it a somewhat easy install..just note you have to drill the mount for wall studs....they give you extra screws BUT ONLY 2 IN WALL CAPS...why guys why? not a big deal as you can get more at any hardware store.DONT USE ONLY CAPS....find 2 studs and drill the metal bracket or you be sorry...even towel bars or tolit paper holder fail in the wall with caps even if they die cast and not plastic...so word to the wise...get out a stud finder or do what i do and bang on wall with fist..(you can find studs easy that way) then get a 12-16p nail and punch it to mark stud center then drill the bracket...and use a cabinet or deck screw NOT drywall screw..other then that install is easy...what be more easy is if the had it pre drill more but remember you need to center it so drilling is allways most often gonna be involved...its a nice shelf but not for real heavy items...the bracket it self is solid but it not gonna support a tv or anything like that..other than that it a great shelf.

Beautiful accent for our wall!

These shelves are very well made, with crisp, clean edges and an easy-to-install bracket mounting system. They are the perfect accent to our wall, mounted just above the antique upright piano that was handed down to my wife, having been in her family for several generations. These shelves made it possible to mount our TV above the piano, and hold the peripheral devices (blu-ray player, Dish Network Joey, and sound bar) above the surface of the piano, so that it isn't damaged by any residual heat generated by these devices. The shelves are sturdy, mount firmly to the wall without any play between the wall and the shelves, and they come in a variety of sizes and colors. Above and beyond what we had hoped for, and as an added bonus, the seller is extremely knowledgeable and quite willing to answer inquiries about this item. Bravo!

Good, but use your own anchors

So, it was packaged well and arrived without any damage or scratches. It is very easy to install as long as you have a stud finder, level and drill. Mine did match with my 16” centers on my studs. No problem there. Why I did not give 5 stars? The anchors and screws are just not enough. I used them, went into studs and used their anchors for other holes on each side. Looked good, but when I put something on it, it started to fall forward and come out of the wall. Luckily, I have some stronger anchors and longer/bigger screws. Removed the supplied ones and used mine, and the product is not going anywhere anymore. Put everything on it and holds great. Very happy with the product after using my own supplies.

Easy to assemble. Good quality.
There are a lot of mixed reviews for this product. Some say the hardware is poor quality and comes with poor instructions. The ones I receive seemed to work just fine. Bought these two for my office to hang cups and it was a 30-40 minute jobs for both (I took my time). The hardware seemed sturdy and the instructions have words. The quality of the shelf is good. It does the job. It is not real wood, not even pressed wood. It is some type of plastic material that imitates wood. didn't bother me. The color I ordered is espresso size 35.4 x 10.2 x 2. They are a bit darker than expected but again for this price and how easy was to mount it, it is worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised, so I paid half the original price. The shelf is very sturdy, came with all the hardware and looks great over my fireplace. Things to know before buying

I like this shelf in theory and it will likely serve my intended purpose; however there are *serious* flaws in the design of the installation hardware. The holes in the mounting plate are not set up for wall studs that are either 16” or 24” on center, so no matter what there is no way to get it in 2 studs without drilling other holes in the plate. The wall I wanted to use this on had studs in positions that I wasn’t even able to get a single screw in a stud; the wall anchors provided are also pretty flimsy, so I didn’t want to rely solely on those. I want to put some important items on this shelf and while they aren’t going to max out the weight of I could use a stud in the wall, there was no way I was going to trust the provided anchors alone. I used some traditional, metal wing hanger bolts and also used the hole in the center of the mounting plate (hardware isn’t provided for this hole, but perhaps it’s there if there happens to be a stud in that spot for certain peoples desired placement. I did used the provided anchors for a couple spots to allow the plate to be held in place while I tightened the hanger bolts. It’s important to note that the provided wall anchors *DO NOT* tighten all the way down; this makes me glad I was not relying on them. This can still be a good shelf for what you may want it for; it’s just ridiculous to me that the mounting plate is t simply made to ensure one can get wall stud(s) lined up easily; more so that any purchaser of this shelf has to buy additional hardware to know the thing will stay put and stable. I gave it 3 stars because it is a reasonable price and looks good, it barely got 3 stars since the hardware is very low quality (unacceptable regardless of price) and the mounting plate it not well thought out. If you are ok with spending the money to buy better mounting hardware-which isn’t that expensive, and/or you can reposition the shelf’s desired placement to know you’re gonna land in a wall stud, then still buy it. I wouldn’t call this a Best Buy and it’s sad that Amazon considers this their “choice” right now (how much did the manufacture pay for that distinction, I wonder?). It’s economical, but you get what you pay for (meaning it will work, but you have to adapt to the fact that they didn’t think this product through thoroughly).

We needed an extra shelf for our closet and this fit the bill! It’s very lightweight which seems deceiving but it is quite sturdy. The instructions aren’t helpful, but all you need to do is measure your area, pencil on the wall where the hanging insert with go, and drill. I suggest using your own wall anchors and screws. The ones that came with this weren’t the best. But the screws that do come with this are good to use to screw the shelf to the hanging insert.
