I had previously been using a small window unit air conditioner in my mancave utility building. On really hot days, I could tell the unit was undersized, and I debated about what to do. I didn't want to spend the money on a mini-split, and I didn't want to install a larger window unit. When I happened upon this unit with a price I thought was reasonable, I decided to give it a try. The box is fairly large, but not difficult to carry. It has some convenient hand-holes for moving it around. Everything inside came packaged securely with no signs of damage or blemishes. I did a quick inventory of the items and was satisfied that everything was included. I decided to give the installation a try without the instructions since it all looked straightforward and it was. I had to do some modifications to the window vent mount because my window was small. That was easy. My circular saw with a panel blade zipped right through the plastic. The mount fit snugly and nearly perfectly inside the track of the window. I didn't even have to run any screws into the window frame. Attaching the flex hose was a bit of a pain because initially it didn't want to thread up, but it was possibly due to sweat running into my eyes and me being impatient. The vent hose is plenty long enough -- maybe even too long, but that's not a bad thing. I decided to attach the drain line to the unit and run it outside rather than have to empty the unit. All this took about 45 minutes. I was now ready to turn this bad boy on. It didn't take long to feel the cooling power of this machine. Compared to the window unit this thing is ultra quiet inside. It's a little noisy outside but who cares. I set it on 65 degrees and just let it run. It ran all night and this morning it was nice and cool in my building. The unit was off, but I just checked and it came on to cool the building down again. It doesn't take up too much space and is easy to move around. The remote control works great, and I am very pleased with the performance. The only thing that may be lacking for some people is that it doesn't have a wifi feature for remote capability or pairing with home automation. I don't care about any of that, but some people might. This portable air conditioner exceeded my expectations! It cools down my bedroom (about 250 sq ft) quickly and keeps it consistently comfortable, even on the hottest days. It is easy to install. I needed to do some small modifications to the window vent, but the product runs and cools this area perfectly. We now expanded our living area adding this air conditioner. I haven't received my electric bill, but our comfort far surpass the cost.

The unit cools my small room quickly, and it's been a lifesaver during the hot summer. However, it is a bit lout, not unbearable, but definitely noticeable. One thing that disappointed me was the BTU rating. It was advertised as 10,000 BTU, but the box label says 6,000BTU. I understand that 10,000 might be under ideal lab conditions, but cleaner labeling would've helped manage expectations. also, the window bracket it comes with feels filmsy and doesn't stay steady - gotta buy a new one (about 30$) cuz it wobbles a lot and doesn't seem built to last! overall it does the job well for small space, but there are a few things to keep in mind! ... show more

This AC unit is small but powerful. I’m using it in a pretty large room but it cools it down quickly. I had a little difficulty with the window panel and securing it but otherwise, I’m happy with the unit. I especially like the timer function so we can set it and bedtime and have it go off in 1-2 hours. It has a remote control which makes turning it off and on, setting the timer, etc from bed nice and easy. It makes some noise but it’s like white noise and I certainly would not describe it as noisy. This room is unbearable once it gets warm but not anymore with this unit. ... show more

Selected this unit due to the value, reviews and reported coverage area. I guess you can only trust reviews so much. So far, so okay... It's loud and fearing that this is a major electricity sucker. My current electricity usage is already more than we used for the entire month of June and we're only 9 days into July. It's starting to make a noise and not sure if it's normal or we have an issue already. The room we use this in is only 250 sq ft and it's rated for up to 450 sq ft. We've set the cool to temp at 68 and it has yet to cut off. Running for almost a week without shutting off automatically. We've had to shut it off manually. ... show more

Im actually downgrading my review. Definitely doesn't cool 450 sq feet. This ac is actually horrible. I turned it on at 7am and it was 73 degrees in my 400 sq ft living room. Its now 5:30pm and it's 78 degrees in my living room and the ac is set to 63. We have all the doors and windows shut and the door to the kitchen blocked off. This ac is not powerful enough at all. Installation was easy enough, but keep in mind you'll need a saw of some sort to trim the piece that sits in your window. ... show more
