Read some of the reviews on this unit and had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with this unit. UPS driver tipped the box on its side unloading (not good for any product with an oil charged compressor) so I waited about 36 hours before running the unit. Instalation was a breeze the unit came with everything needed except a 2x4 section to place between the leveling legs and my vinyl siding ( im 69 and was able to set the unit in the window without help). Came with a level but I used mine. The unit is good looking, controls are easy to use and it's whisper quiet. I installed in a 400 Sq ft livingroom as a backup for central ac (cools the room easily). I have never owned a quieter running window unit. I will buy another this month.

I live in a 115 year old two story house with no central air. The upstairs is an inferno and my bedroom has a large picture window that is just not fit for a regular window air conditioner. I saw this u-shaped unit & had to give it a try out of desperation for some kind of relief from the heat at night. It was easy to install & last night was my first night using it. It was 83° outside all night after a 100°+ day. It worked beautifully. I slept in my nice cool room for the first time in years. I was pleased at how quiet it was too! I had it on the lowest setting as it didn't take much to cool my bedroom. I am so happy with this unit. It worked perfect with my large picture window too. I don't dread Summer nights anymore. I'm so glad I made this purchase.

So in my backyard I have a shed that is roughly 12 x 12. Basically the size of a bedroom. It is a simple shed with a window and works perfectly as my home office to get away from the noise and chaos that occurs in the main home. While it is insulated (as well as a shed could be), it still get very hot in there. I was going to try one of those portable AC units that sit on the floor but I didn't want it taking up space so I opted for a window unit. I got the 8000 BTU model since it says it is good for about 350 Sq ft and my shed is only 144 sq ft. Does it work? Yes, it is able to keep the inside of my shed nice a cool. Is it Ultra-quiet like it claims to be? I guess that depends on your definition of quiet. It is not silent by any means and it can get a little bothersome when I am on my zoom meetings but I have noise cancelling headsets so it blocks the very audible hum. However, it is small price to pay to actually be able to work and not cook at the same time. I am overall very pleased with it, specially on days where it is over 100f.

We installed the unit in late afternoon with the help of family members. It took them about an hour partly because it was being put into a window on a second story. The unit was turned on about 3 hours later and ran fine. I was impressed with its performance and very happy that all the hard work was worth it. The next day it had been running for a couple of hours when an error message E1 appeared where the temperature number had been. I called the company shown on the information booklet and was told it meant the indoor tube where water was collected was full but that didn’t make sense since it had only run a short time and I might thought I might have gotten a used unit by mistake. I checked the water tube and found it full of water. Once emptied it worked normally. I called Amazon customer service and they were very nice. I was given the choice of a new unit or a gift card for $60. Because of the difficulty in having to switch the present unit to a new one, I chose the gift card. Last night it was running and I adjusted the temperature. All the lights on the control panel lit up as normal but they didn’t go off after a brief time as they had before. I tried different things to see if they’d turn off but they stayed on all night, which made it too light for me. I’m trying to connect with the original seller again but haven’t succeeded partly because of a time difference. My worry is that more things will start going wrong. It’s not a good thing to have problems from the beginning. If not for that, I would have given it 4 stars.

Let it sit for 48 hours, install took 30 minuets. Runs very quiet and cools the room very nicely. Needs two people to get it over sill and hold it while your level it. All in all, this unit is excellent, SO FAR. Not sure how the condensate going to work out, but it will shut down on high level and tells you why and there is a drain plug on the side.

I got a 10,000 btu unit for my 150 sqf bedroom. I'd like it if it cooled down the room a bit quicker. It's significantly louder than I anticipated. About as loud as a regular window unit, I suppose. When the compressor kicks on, it sounds like the inside of an airplane. I guess they haven't come up with the technology to truly have these things quiet. Disappointed because the noise is a big selling point. Outside of that, it does cool the room sufficiently. So, it does work. If you need something cheap that works. This is it.
