I live in a 115 year old two story house with no central air. The upstairs is an inferno and my bedroom has a large picture window that is just not fit for a regular window air conditioner. I saw this u-shaped unit & had to give it a try out of desperation for some kind of relief from the heat at night. It was easy to install & last night was my first night using it. It was 83° outside all night after a 100°+ day. It worked beautifully. I slept in my nice cool room for the first time in years. I was pleased at how quiet it was too! I had it on the lowest setting as it didn't take much to cool my bedroom. I am so happy with this unit. It worked perfect with my large picture window too. I don't dread Summer nights anymore. Let it sit for 48 hours, install took 30 minuets. Runs very quiet and cools the room very nicely. Needs two people to get it over sill and hold it while your level it. All in all, this unit is excellent, SO FAR. Not sure how the condensate going to work out, but it will shut down on high level and tells you why and there is a drain plug on the side.

The media could not be loaded. I recently got the Antarctic Star 8,000 BTU window air conditioner, looking for a solid cooling solution for a room that needed some extra help. This unit is designed to cool up to 350 square feet, and it comes with several modes and a remote control, which sounded pretty convenient. On the positive side, this AC unit cools remarkably well. It's a significant improvement over the old window unit it replaced, and it does a great job of bringing down the temperature in the room quickly and efficiently. Installation was also surprisingly easy. I had it in the window and running without much hassle, which is always a relief with these types of appliances. However, the biggest drawback, and it's a pretty significant one, is the noise. This unit is quite noisy. The fan itself has a bit of a squeak to it, which, combined with the general hum of an air conditioner, makes for a rather loud experience. If this were in a primary living space or a bedroom where quiet is important, the noise level would be a real problem. For us, it's in a room that's mostly used for overflow or less frequent activities, so we can tolerate it. But if you're sensitive to noise or plan to use it in a main area, this is definitely something to consider. It cools effectively and is easy to set up, but the noise level keeps it from being a top-tier choice for every room.

This air condition has been such a blessing! Most of the USA is experiencing a heat wave at the moment so this popped up at the best time. I’ve been wanting a window unit for my living room as wheeling the portable one around and hooking up the hose is a huge hassle. This is well made, comes with everything you need to install it, and it gets COLD. I have a 733 square foot apartment and it cools most of it down to a comfortable level with ease. When you take it out of the box I’d suggest sitting it on a tabletop and installing the side panels to block the window. I didn’t do this initially and had to take the AC out of the window again. Learn from my mistakes lol. The top bar screws in very easily. You will need a screwdriver as one is not provided with this. So be prepared for that. Noise level…it’s quite loud. Even in eco mode and with the fan on low, k have to really crank my television up to hear it clearly. Beats sitting in the apartment sweating my butt of though. We have to do what we have to do. It’s not loud to the point where I cant fall asleep while it’s running though. It’s not obnoxious. This works great! I’m really happy with it and for the price point, I couldn’t ask for anything better. Sure it could be a bit quieter but it’s great for the price point.

Unit itself is fine, no issues yet. However, the seller no longer exists, and not selling this exact unit anymore. So, either this a scam and they're trying to steal credit information, or I got ripped off and overpaid for this. If I need to return it, I highly doubt I'd be able to. Be wary of Chinese sellers, especially now. Again, a/c works fine as of this review, just interesting that the sellers storefront doesn't exist. Remote works fine, though you need a tiny screw driver that they didn't felt was needed to be included (for the remotes back cover, that honestly isn't needed, if you're strong and careful enough you can remove the cover and just dump the annoying screw in the trash lol)
