I had an old Q-See system from 2008 that really wasn't compatible with anything anymore. A few weeks ago I had a fox get inside the fence and killed a chicken and a turkey. I wanted to see where he got in at but couldn't get the video from my old system. Time for a new one. After a lot of review reading I settled on this one. It was easy to set up and get going mostly using the existing cables from my old cameras. The interface on the DVR is pretty simple. I can access everything using a web browser but I downloaded their "Guardian Vision" software which I like better than the browser interface. The cameras are about 85 Deg FOV with great resolution and color during the day. They stay in color mode for quite a while after sunset and switch over about 20 min before sunrise. The night vision is very clear and stable with low noise. The range is about 70 feet depending on the reflectivity of the object. One thing that I don't like is that at the maximum resolution of the cameras the image is recorded at 1280 X 1944 instead of 1944 X 1280 like you would expect. You can view the images in the standard 16:9 format with the viewer but the actual video is 9:16. I contacted tech support and they said that you can't change it. This security system is one of those that does not deliver what it promises. The video quality is bad. Before this system I have installed and run a more cheap security system that the annke system. I used this system for two years when two of the cameras stopped working and the company don’t offer replacement (you got for what you pay and it was very cheap) . So I went with this company and I’m not satisfied with the result. My old system was 4 megapixels and the quality of the video was much better than this system that supposedly it is a 5 megapixel. Maybe you pay because it will last but don’t buy this system if you are looking for video quality. ... show more

    • High end home surveillance
The home is in a rural area in the U.S., which typically has a higher theft rate than the city. The work schedule in my occupation is flexible and I so I've never really had a problem with an asymmetrical presence to keep a criminal eye off guard, until the intimacy of the tire slashing. At that point I decided outdoor surveillance should be my first line of defense for home security. I got serious about it with the Annke 5MP 8 camera 2TB DVR system, and built two surveillance towers at the complementary corners of the structure to mount the cameras, which was the hardest part of the project. Annke made rest of it successful and easy with quick connect mounting and cable connections, turnkey startup and responsive support, flawless operation and compressive functionality. With 100° plus angle of view and high definition quality the video in live view is crystal clear and the zoom feature is amazing. The picture specification is same for at least 60 ft with night vision, but I'm pretty sure the maximum range exceeds 100 ft. The Annke Vision App is awesome and has all the features necessary for alerts and DVR operation. For the price I paid and the value of the system I couldn't be happier with the purchase; it would be like theft to get it any cheaper. ... show more

Likes - Color picture in daylight is wonderful. -Night Vision is good, clear, bright, even better with ambient light. - Cameras are rugged and perform well in all conditions. DISLIKES - CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HIT OR MISS AT BEST! - UNREACHABLE ON WEEKENDS. - LANGUAGE BARRIERS ABOUND ! ( unless you speak Chinese) - Warrenties are some what misleading.Buyer beware! Not sure I would recommend or buy again. -Barely 1 yr old and have lost 2 channels ! - Company Logo spends a lot of time on the monitor/w blank screens Customer service was no help at all. **** Will update review after dealing with CUSTOMER SERVICE. UPDATE** Customer service reached out and has graciously offered to solve my issues completely. They are very kind in doing so. ... show more

    • Decent value priced system, but the software for remote viewing of saved video isn’t great,
Decent value priced system. Cameras take good video, but they are plastic. I did have one camera with a bad sensor. I contacted the vendor and they quickly sent my a replacement. System was easy to install. The motion detection alerts work pretty well. My biggest complaint is the software for remote viewing. They don’t have fast forward or slow motion settings for replays on remote devices. Also saving a video or photo from a remote device is very poor. The software on the actual DVR when hooked to a monitor is better. From experience, this seems to be common among many of these lower priced security systems. Another problem is the system doesn’t save the camera order for favorite views. It reorders them which is a hassle. I wish the vendors would devote some time to improving the software for remote viewing. ... show more

I have had this since Sept 2020. This setup was so easy! The cables were plenty of room for my 2600 square foot home. I had problems at first with it working right but it started working perfectly. I live in Louisiana so the motion sensor didn’t work well for me due to all the moths and other bugs at night. I need one with the rfi technology that knows the difference they advised me. I love being able to leave town and check on my home with the app. I feel safer with this system. If I hear someone coming up the drive, all I have to do is pull up the app to see who it is. Playback is real simple. Best of all, when I get delivery alerts for packages, I can check the cam to make sure it’s at my home and if anyone tries to take them, they are on camera. I also have it hooked up to my 65 inch tv for when I had it setup. Overall I am very pleased with this system, it is well worth the money spent.
