  • Anker Roav SmartCharge T2 is a great bang for the buck
The T2 showed up at my doorstep 30 minutes ago as promised! I couldn't wait to hook it up and give it a quick road test! I own a 2000 Camaro Z28 with the original Monsoon sound system and I've put all 314,000+ miles on this bad boy. System still sounds quite decent after all these years, BUT it doesn't have Bluetooth capability and the CD player stopped working 7 years ago (not that I was playing the CDs anymore with the convenience of my entire music library on my phone). About that time, I didn't want to put an aftermarket head unit since I liked having the volume controls and such on the steering wheel. That's when I started looking at inexpensive solutions to listening to the music from my phone via Bluetooth receivers that would broadcast an FM signal to the radio. Found a few that made it sound decent in the under 15 bucks price range that worked well with the exception that South Florida seems to have an FM station at every FM frequency! As long as there was no signal from a station when I'd search for an available frequency it'd sound good enough! But once I'd start driving, within 10 - 20 minutes a station would pop up and I'd have to start searching for another frequency! Not good. Then I bought an Anker SoundCore and that sufficed for a few years, but it just wasn't as good as the stereo system. Of course, I didn't expect it to, but it still gave me kind of what I wanted. I just preferred utilizing my car's sound system. THEN, two nights ago I started searching until I found this unit, the Anker Roav Smart Charge T2. I ordered it because I could advance or rewind tracks, play/pause, and the ease of operation was excellent. But what convinced me to order this was the fact once it had found an available frequency, I could tune the stereo to that and it would get "overpowered" by a radio station broadcasting on that selfsame frequency. Once it arrived and I familiarized myself with the user manual - it's REALLY QUITE simple - I took it for a spin. Searched for an available frequency; 90.5 FM; paired my phone to it; turned on the head unit and set it to that frequency; pressed the PLAY button on the unit and, VOILA! Music from my phone through the car's sound system, and it was awesome! Drove on the expressway, once one song ended I "rewound" it and it played without hesitation; not much whine, if there was any, since my car's a rumbling V8, so it's not an anechoic chamber, OK? Pulled off and then plugged a charging cable into the USB-A port and charged my phone. A little whine showed up, but at the volume level I listen to my music, I'll never hear it unless it's in between songs. I'm ecstatic I've got my Godzilla's sound system back, not to mention my dashboard doesn't resemble Doc Brown's DeLorean's dashboard with a gajillion wires and stuff all over the place! Anker makes AWESOME products. I have a couple of PowerCore power banks, a few automobile phone rapid chargers, the SoundCore, and this one is ACES! ... show more

  • Good Value for the price and handy for older vehicles.
This unit comes well reviewed. I picked it up after reading a Forbes.com article. It's simple to set up, auto-scanning FM bands for an available band to connect to your automotive stereo. Or, you can use an inexpensive AUX stereo cable to the available port built into the side of the unit (not included). Bluetooth pairing is quick and faultless, identifying as ROAV T2 in a scan of available devices on my Samsung S21. My complaint is that while the aux hookup option provides great audio quality, it can make for a lot of cables running through your car between the high speed charger om USB 3.1 or USB-c and the aux cord to the stereo. FM makes things cleaner, but comes with it's own caveats. Power IQ technology is compatible with Motorola TurboPower, Qualcomm Quickcharge 3 4 or 5, and USB C power delivery. This is actually pretty impressive given the unit's small size. Connections are USB 3.1 or USB-c. the Red LED readouts are well chosen, being highly visible at a glance. the buttons work well, though can be tapped inadvertently when plugging or unplugging the power cables. My other complaint is the sound quality. Because you have Power circuitry in close proximity to Bluetooth and FM, the sound quality over the FM Stereo connection is low and static prevails. That Said, this is a great option for older vehicles which may lack modern infotainment systems for patching a phone or laptop to over Bluetooth. ... show more

  • Pretty amazing
I was not really sure about these things and figured it would be poor at best. Having new technology in all my cars, i thought there just is no way this would be comparable. But i am surprised with using it 1 time. I am getting for a 2007 corvette. I tested it and wow it works pretty nicely. It just picks a radio station and takes over the station...I tried to get it on a blank station but did not see how to just assign my own station...it just searches on its own. Once it picks its station you tune to that and you are connected. I thought that was the reason for the lower volume. But so far volume is my only issue. You have to turn it up pretty loud compared to just the regular radio. This is all through bluetooth. so- Plays google map directions with audio instructions through speakers Check Play streaming music through speakers check Plays you tube audio in sync with video through speakers check able to answer phone calls and speak through speakers check Quality of bluetooth calls is about at 80% of a 2019+ factory system Volume with phone 100% you get about 70% to your radio. overall it is an amazing little device. Now let's see if it holds up and how it does during drives on the highway. It is pretty small, so I like that compared to those bigger devices with bigger screens. Will update once connected with cables to phone and also after a few road trips. ... show more

  • Small and quick to connect
Using this in an older 2003 Audi A4 with the original head unit. Didn't want to replace the HU since I like the OEM look. This is small, black with red LED's, and doesn't look gaudy in the console. Connects to bluetooth quickly (far quicker than the BT in our other vehicles), does a good job at finding available FM frequencies, and plays clear audio. I leave it set to an available FM frequency and assign a preset to that so I can quickly switch to this and my regular FM stations. I'm not an audiophile and the sound quality is limited to what you'd get over FM, but for me it works great for streaming music, podcasts, etc.! ... show more
