  • Good purchase
Definitely does the job. I would suggest purchasing some thinner discs with this tool if you want to cut through metal faster.

  • low end of average
I have used several angle grinders over the years and this one is on the lower edge of average. It feels cheaply made and is very loud. It does have good speed when grinding and uses standard disks, however likes other reviewers have stated, it does get quite warm fast. I would use this for small light jobs for fear that it get too hot and problems occur. The old adage -- you get what you pay for. The price is right, but you are getting a low quality tool. ... show more

  • Lightweight, easy to use, awkward rotor locking button
The media could not be loaded. This is a handy, lightweight angle grinder. Its small size makes it easy to handle, and it did a great job on our bolt grinding. A few things to note, however, is that this unit got considerably warmer than other light-to-middle-weight grinders we have used. I'm not sure that's a problem, but it's worth noting. The rotor lock button needed to tighten the grinding wheels is VERY difficult to use. It is in an awkward location, and the button is too small. In order to press it, one needs to put their thumb on the button and depress it all the way, below the edge of the tool. The small size of the button makes it difficult to push the button in completely because you have to push it in beyond flush and the hole is too small for a thumb to fit in. My male friend was able to do it with his index finger very awkwardly, but my female thumb and finger didn't have enough strength to push it enough to lock the rotor. It's also in an awkward location. It is directly under the head so your finger needs to be under it holding it while at the same time your hand must be above it to tighten the nut. If the button were on the side, it would be easier to reach and manipulate. Making the button taller such that it only needed to be pushed flush instead of inset would also help. We also had trouble getting the grinding wheel to lock in tight. The nuts have to be put on in a specific direction, but the instructions were unclear. The nut looked like it went on in one direction, but needed to be flipped upside down to work properly. We figured it out fairly quickly since the grinding wheel didn't lock in and stopped when pressure was applied. ... show more

  • Quality product.
I haven't used it yet, it seems to be of good quality.

  • Good Power but Lacks US Safety Certification
This is a corded angle grinder, which I prefer for consistent power and longer use compared to battery operated tools. It comes with two 4.5-inch cutting blades, and that size is compatible with most blades on the market. However, the unit seemed to get quite warm during use, almost uncomfortably warm. My biggest concern is that it isn’t US safety certified. It does list a European certification, but those standards have different requirements for voltage handling and grounding. As an electrician, I don’t have much confidence in using tools that aren’t UL or ETL certified, especially when there are similarly priced options that are. Because of that, I can’t recommend this product. ... show more

  • Good value diy/hobbyist/homeowner oriented tool.
Angle Grinder, 6.0-Amp, Corded Electric 4-1/2" discs, 11000RPM single speed Corded angle grinder at 6A 120vac and 710w (label) provides just under 1HP.. Brush type motor. Single speed. Extra set of brushes at bottom of box. Easy to miss. The protective guard mounting has changed from the instructions. It is now clamped, not screwed on as shown in instructions. There are 'bumps' in the clamp ring you must line up with matching 'indents' in the casing. Again, easy to miss. Guard will not be secured unless you line these up. Clamp adjustment nut quite loose. Could use a drop of Loct*te once adjusted. Discs supplied have a metal arbor reinforcement ring only on one side. Usual practice is to mount disc with ring out and visible before installing outer flange. Note that Spindle Thread is M14 - if you shop for accessories. 5 stars - good value diy/hobbyist/homeowner oriented tool. Please note: This is a very dangerous tool. They are referred to as 'meat ax*s' for that reason. I wear a full face shield, not just safety glasses. Never let it be operated by anyone but an adult trained in its use. ... show more

  • Finally, a guard that doesn't fight back
I spent years fumbling with wrenches just to adjust my old grinder, but the tool-free guard on this angle grinder actually makes switching angles effortless. It’s light enough at 4.3 pounds that my arms don't turn to lead during longer sessions, yet the 11,000 RPM motor still bites through thick metal without bogging down. It’s rare to find a budget tool that feels this nimble and stays cool through a whole afternoon of rust removal. I'm genuinely surprised how much easier the job is when you aren't constantly wrestling with the hardware itself. ... show more
