When the sun sets, the garden gently lights up with these soft, light-yellow LED globes. With a breeze, they will also sway, and they add a fairy ambiance to the yard. We are very pleased with their simplicity and decorative effect. They have performed perfectly and are exactly as advertised. With enough of them, you can light a walkway sufficiently for safe travel. We use them for a night-light edging for our driveway. These decorative lights are super simple to setup. Remove the solar panel protective film. Best to set them out in the morning for a full day's sun charge before the first night use. You need the ON/OFF switch in the ON position for them to charge. The switch is protected by a rubber/silicone(?) water/dust protective cover β do not remove it. If the ground is hard, you can gently tap the end of the metal stake with a hammer then place the solar/battery control unit on the stake. If the ground is soft, assemble stake/control unit and push into the soil. Position the solar panel for best exposure to the sun. It will charge with ambient light but like with cloudy days and storms, the charging will take longer and perhaps be partial = less light duration at night. The solar panel is also the D2D (dusk to dawn) sensor β if you block it, the light will turn on (you can test the unit this way). The black silicone light stems have a metal wire in them to allow for some bending to spread the lights out β be gentle in bending them β curve not sharp angle to avoid damage to the internal electrical wiring. For the best natural light spread, make sure the stake is as vertical as possible so that gravity can spread them out. If inserted into the ground at an angle, the stems will tend to rotate to the low side. Notes: It is not uncommon for these lights to come on at dusk at different times β variations in the light sensors. Best to allow at least a few inches from the soil to avoid rain splashed mud from covering the solar panel which will reduce their effectiveness. The solar panels should be checked for leaves and dust occasionally and cleaned with a soft cloth. WATERPROOF: This is rated IP65 which means water-resistant. Waterproof and water/weather-resistant are two very different ratings. IP65 is dust-tight (6) and water-resistant (5) which is good enough for rain, snow or sprinkler but not for high-pressure jets or submersion. To be waterproof, you need a combination IPx6/IPx8 rating.

These lights look nice. The warm white is pretty consistent with other warm white lights that I have. The sticks have enough flex to allow the lights to spread a bit and sway in a moderate breeze. The only thing I noticed is that the build quality seems to be a bit sloppy. There was glue or resin or something on most of the solar units that I had to clean off. Also, the resin that they put over the solar panel is not even. Some of them appear to be thinner than others, and one went over onto the plastic frame around the panel. These issues don't seem to be affecting the performance of the product, but they do detract from the look a little bit. I guess the good part is that this was only on the solar panel/battery box. The rest of the product seems fairly well made.

Overall: 5/5 Most lights in this segment perform pretty well and these are no exception. They charge in about half a day of sunlight and last until the early morning (think 5:30 AM or so). These units are a bit heavier built than some, particularly in the stakes. They did splay out better than most right out of the box. The have the standard off/flashing/steady switch on the bottom. All things considered these are about an average value. Quality: 5/5 Well made with no noticeable flaws. Value: 4/5 An average value considering performance, number of sticks, total number LEDs, and comps.

Do they work? Yes. Do they work well? Not always? The lights themselves seem well made and come with spikes to insert into the ground. They charge throughout the day and then auto turn on at night. Few things I have found after a couple weeks of use - they do not last more than a few hours at night; they need direct sunlight to charge - so hiding them inside dense foliage or along a house or fence that might not get direct light will not work; it has to be completely dark for them to turn on - if you have any outdoor lighting, streetlights, patio lights, etc they will not turn on. So overall they are good, not great in my opinion.
