I ordered this tablet to have something small for traveling. The primary use will be for eBooks, and light internet browsing. For the eBooks, I often read older books about early explorations (Arctic, Antarctic, mountaineering, etc.) and I like the pdf version of those books because I can see the included photos, sketches, maps, etc. So, I like an eBook device that can handle pdf files along with the more common compressed formats such as epub. Overall, this tablet is great for my purposes. I installed the ReadEra app for the eBooks, and use the onboard Chrome browser for the web. The tablet handles the eBooks very well. Most internet browsing is also great, but some websites seem to be a little slow to load compared with using a Windows laptop. That’s probably just a consequence of the relatively low-end specifications of this tablet. The battery life seems quite good. I’ve used the tablet for around 90 minutes and the power level has decreased from 90% to 72% in that time. The tablet has a good quality feel with a nice sharp IPS display. It comes with a snap on case with a front flap that can be folded along creases to make it a stand. It also includes a blue tooth keyboard, but the keyboard is loose – it doesn’t attach to the tablet or case in any way. You also get a blue tooth mouse and a stylus. A USB-C cable and 2 Amp USB power supply complete the package. The tablet came preconfigured with the 4 gb of virtual RAM enabled. The Amazon product description doesn’t specify what ports the tablet has. They are pretty limited: USB-C (for charging and data transfer), a micro-SD slot and a headphone jack. That’s all. Also note that there are essentially no operating instructions included. The user has to have some prior knowledge of Android, perhaps from using a phone, but with that the system pretty much leads you through the setup. But if you give this to a grandparent, be nice and help them get it configured. This tablet has fairly low-end specifications, and a correspondingly reasonable $89.99 price (minus another 15% coupon). I think it’s a great package for the money, and it meets my needs very well. So, it deserves a five-star rating from me.

I’d give this tablet about three stars. As an Apple user, I found the interface clunky and not very intuitive. It's probably fine for those used to Android devices, but it wasn’t for me. I barely used it and wasn't impressed. The build quality seemed decent, but it just didn't meet my expectations.

This is an Android tablet, which comes with Android 13 loaded and a basic suite of Google apps. The included folding case fits the tablet well, though the whiteish-opaque back hides the nice blue color of the back of the tablet. The case has cutouts for the backside speakers, but it covers both the side speakers and the MicroSD card slot. Raised buttons are on the case for the power and volume buttons. If you use the tablet in portrait mode by flipping the cover open in a way that the cover is on the left and the tablet is on the right, the power and volume buttons are then at the bottom edge. Inconvenient, but if you use the tablet in laptop mode the power and volume are in a good spot. Setup was pretty straightforward, though I initially had some WiFi connection problems. Connecting to WiFi from the tablet Setup app worked, after the beginning setup promptings for WiFi connection did not. The Bluetooth keyboard is a nice additional to package, and it is rechargeable via USB-C. The Bluetooth mouse however needs two AAA batteries, kind of an odd thing when the rest of the pack is USB-C - chargeable. I was able to connect both to the tablet via Bluetooth, though the keyboard took a while to appear in the Bluetooth device list. The keyboard itself is surprisingly type-able for its size, though the underside is plain metal so it may slide on you while you are typing. Overall performance is kind of laggy, which I expected at this price level, but it is usable and the keyboard/mouse combination turn it in to a laptop solution that is similar to a Chromebook, using Google Drive, Docs, etc. If this was only a tablet in the package I'd probably give it three stars, it's no iPad but it is performing where I expected at this price level. The Inclusion of a cover, keyboard and mouse to make it a mini-laptop increases the usability, so that is why I give it four stars. It will work for the very basics.
