I adore this espresso press and use it daily! The unit has some nice heft to it. The metal base is thick and heavy enough to properly pack espresso in our machine. The wood handle not only looks nice but is lovely to hold, very smooth and easy to operate! I’ve used it daily since receiving it and have had zero issues with make quality or performance. Definitely worth the money if you need an espresso press that will surely last for a long while!

I ordered the 51mm espresso tamper with solid wood handle. The wood is a very smooth and hard, with a fine grain. The stainless is solid, heavy, and finely brushed. The handle unscrews from the stainless tamper, as you can see from my pictures, so there’s no need to damage the wood if you want to clean the tamper. This tamper fits my 51mm portafilter perfectly and the lines on the side ensure that I am tamping level and evenly. This tamper is well made of quality materials and should last a lifetime with care. I have been using a cheap plastic tamper, so I can really appreciate how much better my espresso tastes when properly tamped. I recommend.

As someone who worked as a barista, I’m very familiar with how a proper espresso tamp should feel, and this one absolutely meets that standard. I purchased it to replace the plastic tamp that came with our home espresso machine, and although I wasn’t completely sure it would fit, it ended up fitting perfectly. The quality is immediately noticeable. The wood handle is smooth, comfortable, and gives it a premium look, while the stainless steel base has a solid weight that allows for an even, consistent tamp with minimal effort. The added weight really helps achieve proper compression without having to apply excessive pressure. Even my husband, who has never used a tamp before, noticed a difference in the quality of his espresso. The extraction is more consistent, and the coffee has improved body and flavor. He even uses it with his stovetop espresso maker and appreciates the difference it makes. This is a substantial upgrade over the lightweight plastic tamps that often come with machines. This tamper is lower quality than similar ones I have. It weighs less and the wooden part does not meet perfectly flush with the metal as it should. That being said, it properly fits my 51mm portafilter and works fine to tamp the coffee grounds. It has 2 rings around the metal base which may help you make sure you have an even tamp. For the price I would recommend it.

This guy had a very long shipping time, but what I got was borderline-weapon level heavy high-quality tamper. The espresso tamper is a standard size and fits to tamp the grounds in my personal-use espresso machine. The wood handle is beautifully stained and exhibits no cracks or rough feel, and the whole unit feels heavy and sturdy. I can't be sure it isn't all in my head, but I feel like my espresso is brewing more evenly with the same grounds as always, now that I'm using this instead of the cheap plastic thing that came with the espresso machine. I would definitely get this as a gift for a coffee-lover in my life.

Wow this thing is pretty. My coffee station is carefully curated for an aesthetic and vibe in addition to function. This tamper gets that. It doesn't just have to work, it has to look nice and feel nice. The wood on this tamper is gorgeous. It looks the part for sure. How about function? It fits perfectly in the portafilter and is heavy. It is so solid. The tamp face is quite thick which also helps it stay properly level when in use. I haven't done a side by side to decide if I think it is as foolproof and consistent as my spring loaded calibrated tamper, but I can't imagine there's a significant difference in the end result. The shots I've pulled after using it ran properly and tasted great. This looks and feels expensive and is a pleasure to use.

Fits my casabrews 51mm three prong style espresso machine portafilter better than other 51mm tampers I've tried. The snuggest fitting of the bunch. The handle makes tamping easy and powerful. The wood is hard as a rock and very attractive. Metal machining is high quality and the semi-polished bottom makes clean tamps easy. Solid weight and hand feel. A bit pricey for what it is, but it's premium quality and works like it should.
