    • EXCELLENT ENTRY LEVEL ESPRESSO MACHINE!
Very good entry product into specialty coffees, a very good product. We already have a Keurig and a very good drip coffee maker, but we were missing that "real cup of espresso, etc. We have just returned from Italy and knew we "needed" an upgrade, NOW! This product (CM1636) makes excellent espressos, lattes & cappuccinos for our first foray into specialty coffees without breaking the bank! I love espressos and my wife loves the lattes and cappuccinos. WE already own a great burr grinder (Baratza Encore) so now I just need to tweak that perfect grind size to compliment the espressos I am making right out of the box! It is so easy to use, unpack, wash and run a Capaccino running just water run through it once and it's ready to go. Empty the water that is in the milk container, add your selection of "milk' you want and "go!" my wife is currently using caramel macchiato. The suction cup feet are a great feature as is the small footprint on the counter with the water container on the rear of the machine. Now all my "coffee" machines are lined up in a row to suit ours's and our guests taste whatever they would like to have. So, I would highly recommend this espresso machine as an entry into the world of homemade espresso's, lattes and cappuccinos. You need to definitely give this one a try as an entry into great espressos etc. and learn the finer points rather than those big expensive machines before you even have a clue how to make a great cup of espresso and being disappointed. ... show more

Unit does work well and is very easy to use. The milk frother works well and you don't have to do like others brothers like tilting the milk jug or anything like that, unit cleans up well. I'm pleased with the unit.

I wanted to like this machine. Unfortunately, and even though everything works well and is easy to use, the machine gives the coffee an awful taste and smell. We can't really put a name on the smell, burnt water? Plastic? But it is awful. I have run multiple cycles with plain water on each setting, run with actual coffee and milk, run multiple cleaning cycles, etc. and it still has the smell and taste, which should be gone by now. Because of this the coffee is undrinkable. I am very disappointed because otherwise I would have given the machine a higher rating. ... show more
