I purchased this in conjuction with a new espresso machine I just got. I needed to make sure the coffee grounds were tamped down before using. This product is very sturdy, and presses down the coffee into a perfect puck in my portafilter. Just make sure that you choose the correct size. I purchased this 51 mm for my 52 mm portafilter and it fits perfectly.

I have an espresso machine which came with a plastic tamper so I was excited to see if this made a difference. It definitely does! It packs the espresso down well and fits nicely. I say it's a great value for the price, it seems well made and sturdy. Has some weight to it and is easy to clean. It looks nice too. It's definitely stepped up our coffee game - we did a taste test with the other tamper and there was a big difference in espresso quality.

Great little espresso tamper for use with my long-serving Nuova Simonelli espresso machine. Just like the ones at the professional carts, this is a solid piece with a wooden handle, well engineered and a nice accompaniment to my machine on my counter. This tamper fits my hand well, it's solid and weighty without being overly heavy, and does a great job of tamping my ground beans into the basket.

This tamper is the real deal. I’ve had cheaper chrome-plated versions that looked bulky and felt off—this one outshines them all. The solid wood handle has a great feel in the hand, with just the right weight and balance for consistent tamping. It’s firm, sleek, and just looks better on the counter. Definitely a keeper. Now I just need to find a matching portafilter handle to complete the setup.

Needed a little tamp for an espresso machine. Turned out to be the right size i needed. Good weight to the product. Feels similar to one i used to work with but slightly smaller. Overall a good design and good quality for the hand tamper.

I've been using a home espresso machine that comes with a "pressure" basket, so my extractions are not so dependant on a super-tight tamp. But tamping DOES result in a darker and tastier crema. Before trying heavy tampers, I'd assumed I could get a good tamp with a lightweight plastic tamper just by pressing harder - not true! COMMENTS - This attractive tamper with a wood handle weighs 289 g. It is a good upgrade from the plastic tamper that came with my machine. - The premium grade tamper that I prefer weighs 597 g.
