Update- customer service was so prompt to reply and sent replacement bowls within a couple days. 10/10 service definitely deserves five stars. Thank you! Very cute but slightly defective. There is residual ink that transferred onto the bowls (from the stamp that goes on the bottom). Packaged very well. Hoping I can get replacements for the damaged bowls.

I bought these because I thought it would be a good basic set of dishes. I have owned several sets of stoneware dishes and loved them, but they were not this raw texture. My bad. I like the color, but not the texture nor the shape, but kept them because it was a pain to return them. They have a rim on the bottom of the plates that is uneven on a couple of them, so they do not stack well in the cabinet. The other thing about this unglazed or rougher texture is that it makes me feel like I am eating on a blackboard surrface. Not a positive experience in my book. I also find the bowls, while a nice size and shape, don't stack well either, and because of their shape, take up a lot of space in height. They do seem fairly sturdy, but the other thing I find "off" about this set is the shape of the plates. They are too flat in my opinion, with a slight edge that barely contains any juices from foods, but is enough to make them set a bit awkwardly in my dishwasher racks. This set needs a redesign workshop, in my mind!

I REALLY love these plates. I wanted something simple I could jazz up for entertaining and these are perfect. They wash very well and seem very well made. My only complaint is they get REALLY hot in the microwave and I wish they came in a setting for 8. Being that, seriously love them.

When I first unboxed the set, I was immediately struck by how heavy and durable the set is. Each piece is consistent and uniform in size and color. The glaze is smooth and durable. There was a nice note included with the set saying that each piece is hand glazed, and there will be variations in the appearance. However, to my eye, it is very uniform, with no variations. They are suitable for both microwave and dishwasher, I’ve run them through both, I love the modern lines of the plates and the bowl. I’ve included pictures of the plate next to one of my regular dinner plates so that you can see the height around the circumference of the plate in comparison. The neutral color will complement most anyone’s existing dishes. I would go so far as to say these are now the nicest set of dishes that I own. They are so durable and well-made that if I take care of them, I could see myself passing them on to other members of my family when I go. I have completed this review after using the product thoroughly myself. Even though I participate in the Vine program, my reviews are 100% authentic…I report my experiences, both good and bad.
