Any special settings for AMOLEN pla filament? AMOLEN dual color pla filaments are easy to use, just like other pla filaments. Recommend between 200 and 220 nozzle and 30-60 bed temp. New to 3D printing. what type 3D Printer will this work? can this filament be used on any 3D printer? Compatible with most of the FDM 3D Printer and 3D Pen. Also suitable for almost all high-speed printers on the market. In order to ensure a silky smooth surface of the printed parts, it is recommended to reduce the speed of the outer wall printing What is the inside diameter of the spool? I need to make sure it will spin Inside diameter is about 60mm. spool is 197mm(H) * 60mm(W). And the total length of the wire is about 330 meters for each spool. Awesome filament. It takes a little tinkering at first and I 100% recommend using a glue stick on your build plate. This is the only silk that I’ve used so far that has really required a glue stick but if you’re having issues with adhesion definitely do that. Beautiful colors.

Was super excited to get this silk pla filament as I have been getting back into 3d printing as of late. The colors in the pics are really amazing and black and orange are one of my favorite combos of all time. Unfortunately my prints never looked even half as good as the pictures did… I wish they wouldn’t trick you like that and show a perfect model with super bright and rich orange with the dark black. The realistic color is more like a super burnt brownish orange and a very faded purplish grey. Had to dock 3 stars for fake advertising colors that aren’t even close to a realistic print with this filament. Other than the color it printed decently but nothing special. UPDATE- Company reached out and offered to make things right and I gladly accepted. That goes a really long way with me and I’m certain other customers. So despite that specific filament not working for me I still have confidence in possibly purchasing other products from this company in the future. Now knowing that they really go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy at the end of the day. Thank you very much 🙏🏻 ... show more

This filament definitely has a higher cost than other silk single or multi color-changing PLA, but we have found the increased cost to be justified by fantastic value and quality. The attention to detail we have appreciated: including a resealable storage bag, proper winding of the spools for problem free feeding, plastic spool (controversial, but we prefer it), accurate diameter for amazing outer surfaces, and overall nice packaging. This isn't a full review. We just wanted to point out some interesting things about the dual sided filament. Unlike filament that changes colors either gradually or rapidly, the two colors remain the same throughout the entire roll. The gradient effects seem to be based on the direction of travel of the nozzle. The samples in the photo and video were printed on the FLSun V400 delta style printer, but that shouldn't really matter in this case. One thing we've learned is to rotate your print in your slicer to orient your gradient where you want it. There is a center line where the majority color begins to transition to the other color, so you can get creative with orientation for very interesting gradients. If you noticed poor overhang on the bottom of the oinkarinas, that was due to printing too fast, as well as one of the two cooling fans was inoperable. We will be using AMOLEN for decorative/visual prints in the future if these qualities are consistent. ... show more

(review of the Blue Red Yellow Green fast color change) Like the other Amolen filaments I've tried, this prints beautifully with default settings. I had no trouble with adhesion, stringing, etc., and the silk surface is pleasantly shiny. This is a high quality, well behaved filament. The fast color change is extremely fast, so the models come out with pronounced stripes; this might actually look better for smaller models. The large pieces are frankly hideous. I'm not knocking off any stars because it looks exactly as described, I just don't love the look. I recommend looking at product photos before ordering. ... show more

    • Pretty results, but full of tangles

Very beautiful results. The only problem I had is that every fifteen minutes, my AMS would stop because the filament was tangled on the spool. I got fed up and eventually unwound it entirely and wound it back onto another spool. I had to do this with all four from the bundle, it wasn’t a fluke with just one. I haven’t had that issue with any other brand. That’s the only reason I didn’t give five stars. Customer service was absolutely wonderful though! ... show more
