Seems to be working. Installed it 2 weeks ago and we notice a difference already. Soap seems to lather up more and the water is softer. Our water hardness before installing this was 11. Will check it again at a later time to see if there is a difference.

Way over priced. I paid way too much and listened to the marketing. There are equivalent items for under $50 that work just as well and are just as powerful. Remember, it is just a large permanent magnet like you would have on your HIFI speakers. It appears to work well, but only really effective for low to moderate concentrations of Lime or Calcium.

We have been having a major issue with limescale at our home the last year. I hated watching out appliances and fixtures be destroyed, and so I started looking into water softener systems to try and correct the issue. However, they are expensive to purchase and then you have to pay an installer. Then, I saw the Amfa4000 on Amazon and decided for just over a $100 with a money back guarantee...Why not. We installed the unit by the water meter by just opening the meter box and digging down on our side of the water meter to expose about 4 inches of pipe, and clamped it on. It is that simple. After installing, we began to see a difference in our water the next day!! Per the manufacture, they say to give the device a total of 6-8 weeks to take a full effect, but if we are already seeing significant changes in days, I cannot wait to see how well the device works when given weeks! Our build up was so bad that my faucet in my bathroom was running very slow and within 2 days it already was flowing better. The water also already feels softer on our skin and hair in the shower, and it even has a better taste. This device is amazing for the price point and they say it should last a lifetime and comes with a 10 year warranty! Can't beat it!!

If you are expecting this to be like your normal water softener, it isn’t. It is a pretty ingenious idea. The technology has been around a long time, but probably not applied in this way. Essentially it is like a magnetizer/demagnetizer that you can get at your local tool store. Essentially it is two magnets that have the same polarization forced together. This will either magnetize or demagnetize your screwdriver depending on how you pass it over the block. Essentially, it’s doing the same thing with the particles in your water. The minerals are still there, but they are not electronically attracted to your pipes, faucets and such. That is why some people say that it doesn’t work. It will work in that sense, but not in the typical feel of soft water.

I was very leary at first, but I hated my hard water and the spots that always stayed on glasses and silverware. So I gave it a try and now no more spots and streaks. Just hope it keeps on working.

Hard water was wreaking havoc on our appliances, but the amfa4000 has come to the rescue. I've noticed a considerable reduction in limescale buildup in our dishwasher and coffee maker.
