Very happy with the engineering and the quality of this product. It was a perfect fit for a multipurpose room and blends in quite well. I have put together many pieces of furniture and the instructions were the best I've seen. I does take a while to assemble(my wife and I did it in about 2 hours after organizing all the parts/pieces), but that's a small price to pay for the value. The bed is heavy in total. If you have to assemble it on a different level from where it was brought into the house, I highly suggest breaking it down and taking several trips. You'll thank me later. The finish is on the fragile side, it won't hold up to abuse, but it is good for our purposes and will last if treated well. Be careful to not hit the edges sharply, it will chip. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make it possible to install the supplied outlet on either side of the bed. This could be accomplished by simply cutting a hole on both side panels to give us a choice and then include a filler to cover the hole that isn't used. I am only mentioning this because the way we have it placed, it is too tight to a side wall and makes the outlet unusable, not a big deal, but this option would have made it close to perfect. The bed arrived in two different deliveries as stated, sadly, one piece was damaged buy the shipper, NOT the seller. The seller was extremely easy to deal with, communicated quickly and resolved the issue without delay. I'm happy to praise good customer service, good design, good value and especially good instructions. Well done.

It is beautiful and pretty sturdy. It took me several hours to put together, albeit, I was also with a toddler and took a couple short breaks. When putting it together, I suggest having it right where it needs to go since it is so heavy. Also, be very careful with the drawer system, I cut my finger pretty bad when trying to slide them together. All in all, it will work perfect for an additional guest bed but having two people to put it together and move it is highly recommended.

I love this bed. It is beautiful and functional. This is the perfect addition to our office/guest room. The bed arrived very well packaged. I will say though that the boxes are very heavy even for two older people, so just know if you are alone you will more than likely need help to move the boxes. This murphy bed was a little time consuming but easy to put together. It probably took us roughly 4 hours to put it together going slowly and reading the directions, which were clear and easy to follow. There is also a video in this comment section if you need additional help. The slides pull out easily when rolling the bed in and out. There isn't anything about this that I don't like. Every screw hole and anchor hole was drilled precisely in the spot it needed to be. We were given enough hardware to accommodate everything. All in all I would definitely recommend this bed to anyone looking for a murphy bed to save on space. I bought a 6" trifold mattress that was recommended by one of the other readers which proves to be very comfortable and good quality as well.

This bed is sturdy. I am used to putting together furniture and moving it around my house on my own but not with this piece. Took me about six hours to put together and I had a little bit of help. It arrives in two boxes and one box was so heavy I couldn’t get it into the house and had to open it up and bring the pieces inside one by one. Even with a dolly. So that being said, it’s heavy. We set it up and the guests used it right away. The color doesn’t really match my other furniture but it is a pretty white faux wood grain and still has that farmhouse look to it; so I’m not disappointed. Assembly was not too difficult to follow along with the photos. They could be a little clearer as we did have to take it apart and start over 3x in some spots (just removing a couple of screws here and there where we got things backwards.) I love how deep the drawer is. We measured 15 inches deep. So I plan on holding the extra blankets and pillows in the drawer for guests. Overall, I’m happy and excited with this purchase.

I know why you're reading reviews right now. You have bought furniture off of Amazon before and you were disappointed. What you received was a pile of Chinese made junk that was difficult to put together and lasted about as long as the gallon of milk in your refrigerator. I've been there and I know how you feel right now. I'll also tell you that the only time I write reviews for a product is when it sucks - this product is worth my time and is the exception... The product arrived in two heavy boxes. The boxes had been damaged in shipping, but it was no big deal as the product was packaged extremely well and the damage never came close to touching the wood inside. A+ on packaging. The instructions were very clear. You can follow them. You don't have to know Hanzi (Chinese Symbols) to figure it out. A+ on the documentation. The hardware was all there. There was at least one extra of every screw. A+ The best part is that everything aligned perfectly. If you have an issue getting things to line up perfectly, you made a mistake. Go back and find it. But everything lines up perfectly and goes right together. No bending, wedging, twisting for anything required. It just works. Fit A+ I'll tell you that if you're looking for an every day bed, this isn't it. If you have the money to buy this product, then you have the money to buy a real bed. Go buy it. This is a sturdy bed, but I wouldn't put it up and down every day. It's a great way to store a bed that needs to be used occasionally. We got this one for our Lake House to sleep extra kids and adults on. If you're worried about buying another piece of garbage off of Amazon, you can go look for another listing. This one will not fit that bill as it's everything you are hoping to find but never knew existed. Just buy it and stop your search right here.

I creeped around this listing for a while. I read all the reviews and checked the pictures. It went on sale and I snatched it! First- it’s really heavy. Like 2 boxes instant hernia. The one box came super beat up and we took all these pictures in case anything was busted inside (some reviews mentioned that could happen). Nothing was broken or even scratched. Perfect! My husband and I made a pact that neither of us got to boss the other around, and moved on to setting everything out. 2nd- assemble in the room you intend to put this if possible. It helps to have the room emptied out as much as you can. We just smooshed everything to the wall. The whole thing will nest at the end but the instructions have you assemble things in steps so 2 large pieces that go together will be assembled next to each other first. 3rd. It helps to have 2 people. This took us 5.5 hours. Mostly because we were trying to be considerate. But also there’s a lot of pieces and the instructions are mostly good. If it’s one person- maybe work on over a long weekend. Or pay someone? If that’s a thing for you? The end result is really lovely. I opened and shut it a bunch to see how easy it would be. Lastly - just a note. You really can’t put anything on the top closed. It will fold back when you open it and you would have to move. If this is a legit guest bed used often- leave it blank. If it’s for the random occasion that may not matter. Hope this helps! We did the 6 inch foam mattress- it was firm and seems really great. I did buy a topper to add some softener. My husband did say that he wished we had used the electric drill- if you have any issues- there’s a ton of screws turning and it could wear on your wrists etc.
