    • Wish I could take off for POOR DELIVERY...
First things first... I wish I could take off for the poorest of delivery experience. I originally ordered this lamp on 12/19/19. Without gory details, the lamp arrived today 1/8/2020. Apparently the original order was lost. (Word to the wise: do NOT call UPS as they will refer you to Amazon to establish a lost package ticket.) The delivery and tracking of the item was also subpar, at best. It was supposed to be a gift for my friend for Christmas. Unfortunately, they went home and shipping it to them would have been MORE trouble. They got a different lamp and told me to keep this one. Many thanks to Amazon customer service for being compensated for the disruption and my troubles. Now for the lamp... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! I wasn't sure if I would since the style is not really mine. However, I spray painted the Ratan shades red (currently still drying as I write this review - will post picture later) and it looks phenomenal. Out of the box, the instructions were ever-so slightly unclear. However, being handy at putting things together (thank you to my father and 22+ years in the military), I had it put together with light bulbs and plugged in within 15 minutes. There was a LOT of packaging; which initially was irritating, but I would prefer that than substandard packaging, the item arriving late, AND damaged. This was NOT the case at all. The shades are beautiful and survived the East Coast to West Coast trip unscathed. The arc of the lights themselves have three separate heights. The only drawback I could see is on my lamp the highest lamp is on the right hand side and I sit on the left side of my couch. No biggie for me as I am 5'6", but for those who are higher, it may be a concern. I do believe you can switch them around but again, for me no biggie. The base is really heavy. It is concrete I believe with a bronze shield/cover. It doesn't matter to me and I actually prefer it as I may at some point paint it. All in all, I am VERY happy with the item. I wish I could take off for the shipping, however, I cant in good conscious demerit an item for the poor performance of others. That said, if you are looking at buying this lamp - PLEASE DO!! Now that I have seen this lamp, I may buy another one. However I am ambivalent about the shipping. I guess I will have to accept I wont get the lamp for a month; but it WILL come in EXCELLENT condition. ... show more

I have wanted this lamp for decades, yes, that long. I am amazed that they still manufacture this because it has been around for a long time. I first saw it at Cost Plus around 23 years ago and have wanted it ever since but never had a place for it or thought I didn't. This lamp, now resides on my boat and is the perfect addition to a relaxed natural atmosphere. LOVE LOVE LOVE and you can buy a dimmer for it like I did and now the wattage is not an issue-I read a few reviews that said the brightness was a bit much. I can turn up for reading or dim it down for ambiance. The level of light this puts out is astounding. BRIGHT for when you need it. I bought the plug-in dimmer on Amazon also and the switch sits on my sofa table, so easy to turn off and on now. ... show more

We were looking for a good Arc Lamp for a while. We looked at places locally including Target, Wal-Mart, At Home, Big Lots and even some high end furniture stores. We didn’t want a really cheap one and we didn’t want to spend $300+ on an Arc Lamp. The selection for $150 and below was really limited especially for one that was above 80” tall. This was exactly what we were looking for. It was actually better than we expected. It’s really beautiful and puts off just the right amount of light. We placed it in the corner behind our sectional and it’s high enough where it doesn’t hit you on the head when you sit down or stand up. I gave it five stars because it’s really great for the price and it’s fairly well made. The ONLY negative is that the opening of the shades are so small only someone with small hands can change the bulbs. All in all, really great lamp. ... show more

I love this lamp. But 2 things - I had some difficulty assembling it by myself, and the instructions weren't clear. I found videos on YouTube but they were only for assembling the arms. Also, as someone else pointed out, despite the base being pretty heavy, it will tip over with heavy lightbulbs. I am using smart bulbs which is what I intended for this lamp. So, I have it behind the couch which prevents it from falling over. I'd like to maybe get another someday, but I need to make sure I have something to put it behind to keep it steady. I googled this lamp and found it was selling for as much as twice Amazon's price elsewhere, so it is a good deal here. ... show more

Easy to assemble. Gives a very organic feel to a room. I wish it was on a 3 way switch so you could have dimmer options but it's ok without that. Love this lamp!

I had such a hard time getting the lamp here. It was damaged or lost in transit twice. But apparently, third time was the charm and I'm glad I hung in there. I wanted a bohemian vibe for our small bedroom and was looking for a design which would accommodate behind the bed. A few observations: 1. The base is super heavy so it won't fall over. 2. Small hands are needed to attach shades and put in bulbs. 3. All the lights turn on at once; not one at a time. 4. The light switch is on the neck, so not great if you have it set up like I do. I will probably get a clapper. (Do they even make those any more? Lol) 5. Not too hard to assemble. Probably took 20 mins. I am really happy with the light. It looks great. ... show more

We love this lamp. Perfect in our dark corner of our family room. It is well made with a base that must weigh 35 lbs...not kidding lol. The rice paper shades inside of the bamboo outer shades create a softness that is just lovely. The only thing we would have like is clearer directions. Took us a while to figure out the lamp arms are secured by a “jacket” that slides over the screw at the base of each arm. Reason was because the jacket piece itself was at the top of the part where the lamps connect. It will make more sense when you see yours unpacked lol anyway, might want to be noted better in the directions, that these jackets may be far away from the screws. They blended in with the arm color and just didn’t stand out to us at first. We thought we’d have to return it then viola! My husband saw them lol ... show more

It came in a very large box, it was simple to assemble and very sturdy because, the floor base is very heavy. It lights up a very large living room but, the only draw back is, all 3 lights go on and youʻre not able to switch from 1 to 2 bulbs. You have the option to spread apart each arm or close as you want. The ambience of the lighting also makes a difference in the types of bulbs you choose. I have 40 watts, soft white in each. Bulbs come in soft white and daylight. The soft white gives it a warm tone and the daylight feels like a funky bright florescent feeling. And they have the clear bulbs that you can see through and those also give off a different tone. So, you need to try different bulbs for the ambience that you're looking for.
