When we received the box with the bed, FedEx had dropped it, and it was opened and taped up. I was concerned because I knew the policy was if there was a return, we would have to pay shipping. Before my husband had a chance to open and put it together, I had a message from the vendor that if the bed was damaged, that they would make it right for us, and we would NOT have to pay shipping. That is peace of mind. A return was not needed, though. The bed went together beautifully, and it is just as lovely as the picture on the Amazon shopping site. It is very sturdy, too. I highly recommend this bed from this specific seller.

This took me less than 2 hours to assemble not including the time it took to remove everything from the box and lay out all the parts. I suggest reading all the instructions first and then beginning to assemble. It is better quality than I expected. The drawers are okay--more of a metal cage than a full drawer but I'm assuming that is to keep the weight down. The drawers slide fine on our berber carpet. We have a queen size Casper Element mattress on it without a box spring; this is not a deep mattress and is about 10" thick. Therefore, the top of the mattress is quite low. I feel like even a mattress that is 14" thick would be a little low on this bed. Since we are using this as a spare bed we will leave it as is; if it were an everyday bed we would probably purchase a box spring to raise.

I like the bed. I like the sturdiness of it. Well made not pressed board very solid. Looks good. I just personally wanted it to be way higher up. Feels like I'm almost down too low but I that is more personal preference. I guess I thought without the box spring the bed itself would be higher up.

Drawers should have been lined. Any small items fall out easily. We got some card stock and rolled up plastic and lined them to prevent it. They now work great.

Build was fast and pretty straightforward. Nothing was missing. Once the bed was built it looked great. I was doubting how sturdy it would be since I’m a bigger person but it holds up very well. Doesn’t make any noises when moving around and stays in place. I’d easily recommend this.

I spent more time assembling the drawers than the actual bed. We love everything about the bed but wish the drawers had guides. Our box spring was definitely not needed as it made the mattress too high. The non-slip strips on the frame work well and the bed feels very sturdy but it's not too heavy to move if needed.

I assembled it by myself which was a little bit of a task buy It was certainly doable with a little bit of finness. Do yourself a favor and buy a power drill and bits if you don’t have one. It took about an hour and half and it’s a sturdy and quality bed that looks nice. Wouldn’t of been able to do it without the drill though it would of been way too tedious but that goes for any piece of furniture you have to assemble yourself let alone a whole bed frame
