After about ten days, I can say that this grab bar is good and better than I expected. Note, however, that I'm using it under ideal conditions and I cleaned the new tile wall and the bar with rubbing alcohol. I am checking the bar's stability and just using it for a bit of extra balance in the tub; I'm not expecting it to save me in the middle of a fall. This grab bar has great suction. When I first installed it, I evidentially did not push hard enough. The red light came on after only 10-24 hours, indicating that the suction was insufficient. On the third or fourth try, I pushed the bar as hard as I could. It is Jan 2, 2023, and the bar has been up since the middle of November, 2022. I am very happy with this product. These grab bars are well made and attach firmly to a SMOOTH surface. They have green and red indicators to advise on the status of the suction and hence the safety of the attachment. If red shows, re-attach the unit.

I bought these for my parents bathroom as they're older and wanted to make sure they had something to hold onto and not fall. They're sturdy and the suction seems okay as I put a lot of weight on them to check their hold. My only complaint would be that they can lose their suction after awhile. I don't live with my parents and always check them when I visit, but a few times they have come off and I have found it on the bathroom floor! Just make sure that whoever is using them routinely checks them to make sure they're properly fixed to the wall and regularly reattaches product to ensure suction. ... show more

These were pretty easy to install however they lose their suction grip after a few weeks. Not sure how good they would be if you were to grab them if you were falling

Bought this item for my aging parents walk in shower and was extremely hesitant about going down the suction cup path versus installing a grab bar into the studs of the shower wall. I bit the dust and decided to try this type and have been extremely impressed thus far (four days in). I reallyliked the red/green status indicator showing whether you have a solid connection. I tugged and pulled using a lot of pressure multiple times over the last few days and this thing is a solid as the day I installed.
