  • Wastes Water/Design Flaw
Color: White Style: Left Hand Trip Lever
We bought this low water toilet, because we felt confident that it would flush well and save us water. We actually own three. However, this toilet had a major flaw. It wastes a lot of water. The chains that lift the flappers occasionally get tangled with the flapper forcing the toilet to run water continuously until we notice the problem. I talked to customer service at American Standard and they sent replacement parts, but that did fix the problem. ... show more

  • Mildly enthusiastic about our AS Vormax toilet
Color: White Style: Left Hand Trip Lever
We installed this toilet as part of a bathroom renovation. It does a pretty good job of flushing and cleaning the bowl. Ours is a taller height model and it’s noticeably taller than a standard height toilet. It has a neat appearance, and the silent lowering seat and lid are a neat feature... but the toilet is so loud during flushing that that dominates and is somewhat startling. The seat is also minimally comfortable. Forget reading a chapter of a book while sitting on it. ... show more

  • Non-standard flapper design offers no benefits and huge drawbacks
Color: White Style: Left Hand Trip Lever
"Vormax" is such a frustrating scam I'd caution people to stay away from American Standard altogether. Normal toilets flush fine. A "vormax" toilet, when working properly, also flushes fine with no discernible benefit. But they are way more complicated, prone to failure, difficult to maintain and expensive to fix. The double flappers are prone to leaking/dripping and driving up your water bill. A normal toilet flapper cost $4 to replace, but a vormax flapper is $40. The chain holding the flappers needs to be tuned perfectly---too much tension and your toilet will leak/drip, too little and it won't flush completely. Seems like a case of reinventing the wheel for marketing purposes at a major cost to the consumer. I'd stay away from this product and brand, and if/when I have to replace my dumb leaky toilet I certainly will. ... show more

  • Make sure you order correct height
Color: White Style: Left Hand Trip Lever
This is a great looking toilet as well as incredibly clean. Description is right on the money. However, I made the mistake by not having ordering a taller one. Except for that, it is still fine. My husband installed it ....took a few hours had trouble fitting the toilet seat, it was tricky so read instrctions very carefully. ... show more
