    • Good value, worked like new, good image and options

I bought this "used" IP3M-941B from Amcrest store at good discount; it came fast and appeared to be new, all parts neatly, securely packed. There's a better-than-average printed Quick Start Guide, and it had the most recent (12/19) firmware installed. More docs and a help forum are available at Amcrest online. Setup and config. were straightforward, tho many steps were involved and will be daunting for an IP cam beginner. Unlike some cheap cams, this works (ONVIF compatible) with third party view/record apps on MacOS and iPhone, also ChromeOS via browser; also allegedly works with 5 ghz wifi, though I only used 2.4. I couldn't connect from Win7 PC + Chrome, but newer Windows should work. There are some annoying bugs in Playback and Setup from the browser interface and some file downloading deficiencies you'll find discussed in forum. Disappointing to see Amcrest hasn't fixed these. Overall though, after 6 weeks of use, I'm happy with purchase. Seems like a good choice in its price class. Update April 11, 2021: after 3 months of continuous use, still working as new, using for local wired/wifi access ONLY, isolated from web. Wired connection from Win7+Chrome now works fine for playback of motion captured files. Still very annoying not to be able to play a day's captures continuously, or use keyboard commands in the browser interface -- you have to double-click each file, wait for it to finish playing or click Stop, then wait about 3 seconds to double-click the next file, etc.! Amazingly tedious interface to use! Once or twice a month, some glitch occurs with motion capture, or scheduled events stop working. Usually just a power cycle fixes it; rarely I find some setting has changed spontaneously. Kind of pathetic that a good company like Amcrest is not bothering to update flawed firmware in this generation of cameras (allegedly DISCONTINUED but still widely sold). ... show more

Pro: Amazing picture quality. Simple set up instructions. Night vision was outstanding. Was able to move the cam around with my phone, with no problem. App was properly thought out. App was very intuitive to use. No brain power needed. I never used cliud storage. So I can't comment. Con: I didn't have to use tech support. So I can't comment. The downside to night vision mode is you have a circle of red glowing bulbs that screens "hey, everyone! This person is using a security camera!" I didn't know, red bulbs we're going to light up in a ring. It was like the Xbox 360 red Rong of death for crying out loud. Bottom line: I would definitely get this product.     • Maybe I got a bad one

I'm normally a fan of Amcrest. I use one of their webcams on a daily basis and love it. So I figured I'd give their Wireless PTZ camera a try. I recognize that buying refurbished might be the problem here, but overall the experience has been terrible. The camera is billed as a dual band camera, however the Amcrest Pro View software keeps insisting that it has to be on a 2.4Ghz network only. Ok, fine, so I set up a 2.4Ghz network just for this camera. I still cannot get it to connect. Reading the manual they mention using the included CD to load software on your computer. However, there was no CD in the box nor was I able to find said software online. I tried setting it up via wireless. I tried setting it up using their "ethernet wifi configuration" as well. No luck. The camera simply will not connect to my wireless network, 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz. I have factory reset the camera. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Android app. Yet I still cannot get the camera to connect. Even my junky old FOSCAM worked with minimal hassle out of the box. Not sure if this one didn't get refurbished correctly or what, but I am going to be returning this and will go with another camera. I'm disappointed with Amcrest on this one. ... show more
