I’ve gone through my share of office chairs over the years, including some that cost close to $1,000 with all the bells and whistles - vibrating backrests, dozens of levers, fancy lumbar systems - you name it. But nothing ever compared to the simple, basic chair I bought at OfficeMax over a decade ago. Unfortunately, that chair's pneumatic piston eventually gave out, and the store is long gone. I’ve been hesitant about Amazon Basics products in the past. Some of them have felt a little... well, basic. But I found this chair, and I figured worst case, I’d send it back. I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is easily the most comfortable chair I’ve owned in years. It has a nice wide seat (wider than my old one, which is a welcome upgrade), excellent back support, and just enough padding and adjustability to keep me comfortable through long workdays. For a simple, no-frills chair, this absolutely nails it. It’s everything I needed without overcomplicating things. I’ve officially changed my opinion on Amazon Basics - at least when it comes to office chairs. 5 stars. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, simplicity, and solid value. ... show more

I'm 6 ft tall, 200 pounds. I'm fine in normal size chairs, but I bought this one because I wanted durability in this price range. It is a super strong chair. It feels solid when I lean back in the chair, put my feet up on the table and watch movies on my monitor.     • Easy to assemble and very sturdy
This office chair is by far the easiest to assemble and sturdiest chair that I have purchased. It is definitely geared toward larger and taller individuals. The seat is deep so that the underside/hamstrings are supported and is definitely on the wide side. I am 6'4" and 280 lbs and I have plenty of width (the width of the arm rests can be adjusted a bit during assembly). The product arrived well packed with simple instructions. I took me about 30 minutes. The best part of having a mesh backrest is that the assembly was easy since I did not have to press together a padded back to the padded seat which can be a struggle without assistance. I like the lumbar dial on the back and the lever below the seat, for raising/lowering the seat and locking/unlocking the rocking motion works well. The only down side is even though the seat is well cushioned, the memory foam is quite firm, so don't expect a plush spongey surface....this could also be a plus as it may hold its shape over time for heavier individuals. ... show more

My favorite characteristic is the build quality. It seems nice and solid. I put it together solo in about 30 minutes. My only complaint is that the chair is a little bigger than I thought it would be. I'm 6'2" and I feel like a kid sitting in a grown ups chair in this. I have to poke my elbows out to use the armrests. In the end it is one of the better desk chairs that I have used so I'm happy to give it five stars. ... show more

I've had this chair for almost a year. It causes me to have severe lower back pain. The pain is so bad I can barely walk after sitting in it. I've tried ergonomic seat cushions to no avail. Since I use it for work, I'm on the search for a replacement.

This is an extremely comfortable chair. The seat is much wider from arm to arm than many office chairs, and also longer from front edge to the seatback than others. The arms are comfortable. Very adjustable arms for finding maximum comfort. Lumbar support is the best I've had in a seat other than my BMW X5. Biggest criticism is the wheels. Flimsy, not easy to roll. ... show more
