I’ve gone through my share of office chairs over the years, including some that cost close to $1,000 with all the bells and whistles - vibrating backrests, dozens of levers, fancy lumbar systems - you name it. But nothing ever compared to the simple, basic chair I bought at OfficeMax over a decade ago. Unfortunately, that chair's pneumatic piston eventually gave out, and the store is long gone. I’ve been hesitant about Amazon Basics products in the past. Some of them have felt a little... well, basic. But I found this chair, and I figured worst case, I’d send it back. I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is easily the most comfortable chair I’ve owned in years. It has a nice wide seat (wider than my old one, which is a welcome upgrade), excellent back support, and just enough padding and adjustability to keep me comfortable through long workdays. For a simple, no-frills chair, this absolutely nails it. It’s everything I needed without overcomplicating things. I’ve officially changed my opinion on Amazon Basics - at least when it comes to office chairs. 5 stars. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, simplicity, and solid value. ... show more

    • VERY big and tall chair
My favorite characteristic is the build quality. It seems nice and solid. I put it together solo in about 30 minutes. My only complaint is that the chair is a little bigger than I thought it would be. I'm 6'2" and I feel like a kid sitting in a grown ups chair in this. I have to poke my elbows out to use the armrests. In the end it is one of the better desk chairs that I have used so I'm happy to give it five stars. ... show more

This is an extremely comfortable chair. The seat is much wider from arm to arm than many office chairs, and also longer from front edge to the seatback than others. The arms are comfortable. Very adjustable arms for finding maximum comfort. Lumbar support is the best I've had in a seat other than my BMW X5. Biggest criticism is the wheels. Flimsy, not easy to roll. ... show more

    • Easy to assemble and very sturdy
This office chair is by far the easiest to assemble and sturdiest chair that I have purchased. It is definitely geared toward larger and taller individuals. The seat is deep so that the underside/hamstrings are supported and is definitely on the wide side. I am 6'4" and 280 lbs and I have plenty of width (the width of the arm rests can be adjusted a bit during assembly). The product arrived well packed with simple instructions. I took me about 30 minutes. The best part of having a mesh backrest is that the assembly was easy since I did not have to press together a padded back to the padded seat which can be a struggle without assistance. I like the lumbar dial on the back and the lever below the seat, for raising/lowering the seat and locking/unlocking the rocking motion works well. The only down side is even though the seat is well cushioned, the memory foam is quite firm, so don't expect a plush spongey surface....this could also be a plus as it may hold its shape over time for heavier individuals. ... show more

    • This chair definitely gets the job done
This chair is perfect I bought it after having weight loss surgery and as my body has been shrinking it has still kept up very well I've had it for a little over a year now and I work from home at least 8 hours a day sometimes more

    • Comfortable but cylinder is extremely wobbly 7 months after purchasing.
For a chair that supports up to 400lbs, with 7 months of buying it the cylinder wobbles terribly. I can't find any way to fix it and the support sites trouble shooting is worthless. It's a shame, it's a comfortable chair otherwise and the prospect of buying a new one in under a year of owning it is saddening. I've never had issues with other Amazon Basics items, which makes this one disappointing. ... show more

Amazon Basics Big and Tall Mesh Office Chair with Adjustable Arms and Lumbar Support, 400lbs Capacity, Black Review THE POSITIVES The chair is wide. Assembly was easy and each of the 3 types of screws were individually sealed. There was an Allen wrench for attaching the armrests. THE NEGATIVES The seat was not level. Measuring from the floor to the bottom of the seat cushion was 16” and was consistent across the width of the bottom of the seat. At the top of the seat cushion, however, the height is different. Although I may not have the measurements exactly correct, one side was 0.25 to a half inch higher than the other side. The seat was very firm. It looked softer than it was. I can’t prove it, but if felt like the back of the seat, at the tailbone, was firmer than the front of the seat. The seat was too deep for the adjustable lumbar support to be useful for me. The wheels did not roll well on a hard surface, especially when I was sitting on the chair. The box was damaged when I got it and the extender actually fell out of the hole when I lifted the shipping box. CONCLUSION The chair was OK but I would not recommend it.
