The android auto is great when I want to use the google maps or listen to content on my phone. Unit worked great the first 6 week. The previous six weeks, the unit has been failing. It constantly restarts. The volume knob and buttons do not work and the screen is in responsive at times. It was to good to be true.

The installation went smoothly and everything works including the backup camera input and wireless CarPlay. The two annoying things with this was the splash screen that had to be manually dismissed every time you started the car and the speed of the unit was sluggish... UPDATE THE FIRMWARE... It fixed the speed and the prompt now goes away on its own. Very happy with this head unit.

Saw a lot of negative press on this unit, not just on Amazon but elsewhere as well. Decided to try it anyway. So far it has been a good unit. It is easy to navigate and set up. It has a reasonable EQ tuner with sub control and some decent presets. A couple things I love about this unit. 1. Volume knob=instant response. 2. Wireless carplay. 3. Very little delay on touchscreen. 4. Screen quality is perfect for a weekend warrior truck that I installed it in. Only reason I couldn't give it the full 5 stars is it occasionally drops my phones bluetooth signal. Phone still shows connected and it takes a minute or two before it will automatically reconnect. Not sure if there was interference or an issue with the phone that caused it, but it does not happen in my other vehicles.

I will say, I have not powered this device on yet. However, it is too wide/tall to fit directly into the dash kit I purchased for my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. I will need to dremel out some material from the dash kit to make it fit. Giving 3 stars for now, will update my rating to better fit the performance of the device once I use it. Edit: changed review to 2 stars. After using for about a month here are the main negatives I have found. Brightness: the screen brightness is so dim, very nice at night but in the middle of the day it’s very difficult to see unless you have 5% tint on your windows. Yes, I have brightness settings turned all the way on max but it still fails to provide ample brightness during the day. CarPlay: I have noticed that the longer the radio is on, the more this problem occurs. CarPlay will disconnect and reconnect quickly, but it stays disconnected long enough to force the radio back to its stock home screen and you have to click on CarPlay to get the screen back up. The music will cut in and out when this happens. I thought maybe it was because I was using wireless CarPlay so I plugged it into the USB port (after turning Bluetooth off) and the same issue keeps happening. I believe the radio’s internals get too hot after operating for X amount of time and it causes connection issues. I do not necessarily recommend this radio, although the sound quality, EQ customization, and wireless CarPlay ability are all nice to have.

Wireless CarPlay American made stereo in a double din form factor. Yes please! This little budget radio far exceeded my expectations. I wanted something that would interact well with my amplifier and subwoofer without having to install a DSP. Also I wanted it to fit in the stock location without sticking out. I was bombarded by Chinese products while looking but none convinced me because I am very skeptical of their build quality. I have installed a few of them in cars before and was not impressed. I figured id spend a little more and buy from an American company and I am glad I did! The touch screen is very sensitive, wireless CarPlay connects as soon as I get in the car, the usb option keeps my phone charged and out of the way in the glove box and the sound is well beyond and of the cheap Chinese radios Ive installed in the past. Audio controls allow fine tuning of the mids and highs. A completely bass volume is provided and even the option to turn off the bass amp completely. This is a whole lot for a unit that doesn’t reach the $200 mark in 2024. I am very happy and incredibly grateful Jensen provides such a great product at a budget price. All other known brands were in the mid $500 to $800 range.

Cons: Looks and feels cheap. Main menu screen is ugly and outdated. Display quality is poor and colors arent vibrant. Its like an old PC screen. Everything about it reminds me of Y2K technology. They wont show you this on any ad so i included a photo. Touchpad wasnt very responsive and didn't work in the corners, a firmware update fixed that but also changed the display so everything is like zoomed in now and crammed on the screen. Looks even worse now. Everything says I can't do that while I'm driving but I'm not driving. Must be what the GPS antenna was for that i didnt use. Pro: easy to set up, great tech support that you get right through and it's an American guy on the phone. Android auto loads right up automatically and works flawlessly wirelessly. Would be good for a cheap car that just needs a working radio with Android auto and backup cam.

Radio is awful. Does not stay connected to airplay, Bluetooth connects and disconnects on its own, It may remember stations but changes randomly, when you change options such as TA it will just turn itself back on, volume changes on its own. Re Boots Constantly. This all can happen when driving or when you start it up the next day. Purchased this for a shop truck and is defiantly not worth it, I have tried calling support just to get circled around multiple times. Spend a little more money and get something reliable. Complete waste of time installing and now will have to do it again. Throwing in the garbage.
