This the second one that quit playing the first one quit after a few weeks now this one is a year and a half old and has no sound have checked all the connections still no sound I would say radio is not worth the money

Better than expected

I bought this to replace the factory head unit on a 2014 Grand Caravan. I had a different aftermarket head unit but it failed to impress. This little guy had the inputs for my separate DVD player has a loudness boost which frankly made me not want to adjust the EQ and it has separate volume input levels as well as map navigation adjustments. All I can say is if it lasts I am impressed with how well it matched the speakers for power and the features. The operating system is a little clunky or slow and it could have a more impressive screen brightness adjustments for head lights on and off. Having the wiring map right on the side of the unit turned out to be a great help as well. Can’t wait to get the backup camera installed and adjust the backup settings.

((((((( IF YOU BUY THIS UNIT DO THE FIRMWARE UPDATE IT WILL IMPROVE YOUR UNITS FUNCTION. Available at Jensen web site.you will need a blank fat32 formatted usb drive but update worked great for me.))))), I bought 2 for my 96 Chevy Silverado's to bring it into the current era, I will say this unit installed nicely with the dash kit and wiring harness adapter. My phone synced perfectly to the unit without much trouble at all and it is wireless so I don’t even have to take my phone out of my pocket. I did opt to purchase the full dash bezel to accommodate this unit as well and made for a professional looking install that fit perfectly. The screen is nice and responsive and with the eq system can be easily adjusted to your likings. I installed mine with a sub setup under by back seat and replaced my factory speakers and I will say this unit is great in that regard. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is boot up, this unit seems kind of sluggish when booting and you have to tweak a few setting to get your navigation and message volumes to match the unit. Once all this is done this is the perfect head unit from a trusted brand.

Slightly too large for aftermarket dash kit stereo mount EDIT

I will say, I have not powered this device on yet. However, it is too wide/tall to fit directly into the dash kit I purchased for my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. I will need to dremel out some material from the dash kit to make it fit. Giving 3 stars for now, will update my rating to better fit the performance of the device once I use it. Edit: changed review to 2 stars. After using for about a month here are the main negatives I have found. Brightness: the screen brightness is so dim, very nice at night but in the middle of the day it’s very difficult to see unless you have 5% tint on your windows. Yes, I have brightness settings turned all the way on max but it still fails to provide ample brightness during the day. CarPlay: I have noticed that the longer the radio is on, the more this problem occurs. CarPlay will disconnect and reconnect quickly, but it stays disconnected long enough to force the radio back to its stock home screen and you have to click on CarPlay to get the screen back up. The music will cut in and out when this happens. I thought maybe it was because I was using wireless CarPlay so I plugged it into the USB port (after turning Bluetooth off) and the same issue keeps happening. I believe the radio’s internals get too hot after operating for X amount of time and it causes connection issues. I do not necessarily recommend this radio, although the sound quality, EQ customization, and wireless CarPlay ability are all nice to have.

The installation went smoothly and everything works including the backup camera input and wireless CarPlay. The two annoying things with this was the splash screen that had to be manually dismissed every time you started the car and the speed of the unit was sluggish... UPDATE THE FIRMWARE... It fixed the speed and the prompt now goes away on its own. Very happy with this head unit.

To good to be true

Unit worked great the first 6 week. The previous six weeks, the unit has been failing. It constantly restarts. The volume knob and buttons do not work and the screen is in responsive at times. It was to good to be true.

For $200, this works. It connects with Android wireless and the interface is intuitive. However, there were issues with it randomly switching between the radio and phone and I had to disable some radio settings to fix them. It also keeps force connecting to any phone it has ever been connected to, even after I delete the phone, and it is very difficult to switch to a new phone once it does so. Also, I've had to restart it once because the bluetooth touchscreen button wasn't working (otherwise the touchscreen is great). On the plus side, Jensen's customer support was very responsive and helped me figure out how to address some of the issues. This is a budget receiver, and given that it does pretty well.
