I bought it to use under my car to try to repel packrats. So far it is working fine. It is well enough sealed so no bugs get inside laying flat on the carport floor. It gets a little warm, but not hot, so I expect it should last a while. Good for the price.

I’m reviewing two of the Amazon Commercial Mini LED lights as a compare & contrast. I have both the Daylight and the Cool White models. The Daylight model emits a warm light similar to an incandescent lightbulb. The Cool White emits a bright, somewhat harsh white light with no warmth to it. If you are using this to paint a room, the warm light will give you more realistic light but the cool will help you find the spots you missed a bit better. Both are only big enough to adequately light the wall of a small room like a bathroom. For a living room or something similar, even a bedroom, this is not going to be enough light. You would need several of these for a larger room. Think bathroom, crawlspace, or walk-in closet or even under the hood of your car. In a power outage both will be very handy plugged into a battery source or a generator as my meter shows they each draw 16 watts / 1.9 amps. In an outage they will both light a large room a little better than a bare lightbulb but the light is directional. I left both plugged in for 2 hours and they did get warm but not hot. They are advertised as “mini” and you need to heed that title as these do not product light like the old halogen work lights. The Amazon Commercial Work Light is quite good. It’s small, but provides as much light as many larger, more expensive work lights. Although it’s not as useful, in some cases, as cordless work lights that are charged, and provide similar amounts of light and charger ports, this Amazon work light plugs into an electrical outlet and provides continuous power. If you plan to use this light for many hours – or just don’t want the hassle of recharging a work light - or even worse – having a work light that stops working because the battery is dead – this is a good choice. This work light provides options for placement. You can put it on the floor, on a table or work bench, or in other places that the older, large work lights can’t go. The light lets you choose bright or less bright. It’s a great tool that will provide very bright light practically anywhere you need it. ... show more

Not enough to daylight a large worksite, but a very good task light with no hot spots and compact enough to drop into a tool bucket/bag for occasional use without adding much burden the rest of time. *If* you work where AC is generally available. A battery-powered light (if you can find one this nice) will be bulkier and require charging/maintenance — but it won't have a tail or plug requirement. The two swinging bracket/leg loops are flexible for positioning on floor or bench or hanging from a hook — and make it easy to clamp to framing, post, hood of truck, etc for elevation. Build is smooth and solid — I expect it will take a lot of banging around, maybe even drops but I'm not going to test that on purpose. I'm "storing" mine as a task light over my reloading bench, but I expect to drag it hither and yon for other projects. ... show more

I like this light and I think it will serve its purpose in many scenarios. It would do well if semi-permanently mounted somewhere. I used it as a portable light and while it threw plenty of light on the task at hand, its light weight made it difficult to stay in place. Even a little tension on the power cord can cause it to twist in place towards the outlet. UPDATE: I used it for about a half hour while painting my ceiling and noticed that the back gets quite hot - enough so that the label on the back started to bubble. I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about, safety-wise, but it is concerning for the longevity of this light. We’ll see how it does with more use. Overall, it does its job as a work light and does it pretty well. Being tethered to an outlet is a bit inconvenient, but I think not having to worry about a discharged battery also has its merits. ... show more

This light works as advertised, and is a nice addition to anyone's work tools. The light is small compared to other work lights, but still quite bright, It has a handle making for easy carrying and an adjustable stand to position it at any angle. To operate, simply plug it in and turn it on. Nothing complicated here. It does not get hot. The only downside is that its small size makes the lighted area not as large as might be had with physically larger lights. However, unless you need a extra large wide area lighted, this is a minor issue. As long as you understand the limitations associated with its size, this is a fine light and recommended. ... show more
