This firestick is amazing. I bought it because I needed one for my room. It is wonderful. The only thing is the storage/gb aren’t the greatest and it can’t fit too much on it, which is a downside but other than that I love it. Works well, looks great, and it’s in 4K quality, which is wonderful. I recommend. Although if you want more storage/gb I recommend getting one of these with a higher storage count.

I had modest expectations and I have only mastered the basic functions of this fire stick but has at the least fulfilled my basic requirement which is to replace the woefully underbuilt user interface of my samsung tv. It was easy to set set and has worked without and glitches since installing. My samsung was constantly rebooting, some apps would not work, and I think it's common knowledge at this point samsungs interface lacks both processing power and reserve memory. The fire stick has corrected all these problems so I consider the $35 dollars well spent. It is tailored to me as I've been a prime member for many years. The remote is basic but well designed, not so many buttons that your constantly looking for the right ones.On/off and sound buttons work as intended but I still need to use the samsung remote to switch inputs. The fire stick native apps also include some local news stations which is great. Very happy with my purchase, ratings do not lie on this one.

I hooked it up today. Being older and not that good with these new electronics. it took me a while to figure it out. I could not get the remote to work. It had connected to my tv remote. That actually makes it one less remote we need. For me its a bit complicated to get through all the different options and ways to use it. I have grand kids and I'll let them sort it out. It was easy to install.

What I liked the most was that it included a month of Xbox Game Pass and I was able to install the games without problems. Everything feels fast and the control responds very well. Fire TV sticks would be the best, and most economical way to stream Plex Audio in flac from your computer server to your TV (and hence, through optical cable to your home amplifier) except for the fact that the sticks are just not powerful enough. I have an old (1st gen) Fire TV "square" that I use for this purpose. It is the equivalent of the modern-day Fire Cube and it works great, except it is slow to load apps and to use. I first tried a Fire Stick "back then" and experienced problems then, so I went to the square. The advantage to running Plex through Fire as compared to the interfaces provided by Google Cast or the native Tizen (Samsung) app is that both of these take your lossless flac signal and recode it into lossy signals that compress your sound. Google Cast is terrible about his. Also neither of these apps will allow "gapless" playing between tracks. Fire passes the native codec (flac, in my case) on to your amp's converter. It also plays "gaplessly". There are other "streamers" and "gamers" out there that will also handle this problem--for $200 and up. Since I don't care about gaming, and seldom stream movies, it seems like a lot of money. SO, THE PROBLEM WITH THIS FIRE STICK: The modern sticks are faster, and I assumed they would now be able to handle the load of Plex. So I bought this new "stick". It worked for about 40 minutes and then powered off. I rebooted it, tried again, and got the same response in about 20 minutes. Before it "cut out" the music began sounding like a CD with a damaged surface. I assumed it was defective and exchanged for another one and got the same results. Well, now I am back to my old, slow "Fire Square". If you want to use Fire to play Plex, you will probably need to go to the Fire Cube. I assume it will still take the load. Yes, it is more expensive. One other note: f you want to "cast" your Plex from your phone, or any other device using Plexamp, (which is dedicated to audio and is different from Plex) you will need to sideload the APK form of Plexamp onto your TV. Once done, this works great. If you have never sideloaded an APK before, this will be a learning experience.

The setup was easy because i already owned several of them so it linked to my account as soon as i turned it on. The connectivity is great, and we love streaming our favorite shows and movies on it. The voice control is great as well, a long with the battery life.

I have an unsupported tv but still got almost everything to work. The Komodo has no support that I can see so you have to use unsupported, and I can't get the volume button on the remote to work on the tv as a result, but sound is perfect otherwise. The remote is very simple but comprehensive enough to not need a large number of buttons making it accessible to most people with ease. The speed is a little faster than using an xbox one and a plastation 4 for streaming which surprised me greatly as they were even connected with a cord while the fire stick is wifi. The options are also a lot more comprehensive than I was expecting with a large number of potential streaming options including cable which I know most people won't get because of the high price tag of around 130. So overall mostly perfect, got to stand up to turn the tv volume but oh well that's fixable enough down the line.
