This is a pretty nice watch, though I wish the silver bracelet on it was brushed metal rather than shiny. When I opened the box, it screamed out at me, "cheap," which of course it is, but brushed metal would have given it a bit of class. The watch comes with good instructions -- all but for changing the battery including instructions for removing links to make the band smaller, but without a tool to help accomplish the task. So instead of wearing it I put it back into the box until I come up with something to adjust it. ... show more

This review is for the Amazon Essentials Unisex Bracelet Watch. It's a basic, nice looking watch. The look is appropriate for either dressy attire, smart casual attire, or even pool clothes. The band is a shiny metal. I prefer a brushed metal look, but it looks good with the navy face. The steel hands and minute marks contrast nicely with the dark blue background, making it easy to read. The fit is comfortable, and the size of the face is closer to a typical man's watch than a smaller faced one typical of a lady's watch. But the look itself definitely works for either. Its just a personal preference. The face is also thinner than many other watches, which reduces the bulk and weight. In fact it barely weighs over 2.5 ounces, so has a really lightweight feel. You can also remove a few links easily for a personalized fit. I picked this watch for casual travel on vacations. I wanted a simple, nice looking watch, that would work well across a range of outfit looks. But also one that was fairly inexpensive, could take being in the water for several meters, and would be no big deal if it did get lost or broken while traveling. Its a great alternative to my more expensive watches, and a simple no-nonsense alternative to my smart watches for when I just don't want that much "smart noise distractions" on my wrist when vacationing. Is it a 5-star watch in the land of all watches, of course not. However, for the value point and the looks, it definitely is a 5-star in similar value categories. Classic Design - Check Japanese Quartz Movement - Check I was eager to check out this timepiece from Amazon. While I have moved on to smart watches and more or less abandon the traditional watch, I am still a fan. Lets start by saying if you are comparing this to a Swiss or other high-end watch you will see the difference. That said, this watch is a tenth the price of those pieces, and well worth its cost. Notable differences are the weight and quality of the metals and edges of the metal. Compared to anything else in this price point I think the Amazon Essentials is a fantastic watch. The design is very classic, and I love, love, love the navy dial with the white markings. This is a very classy look in my opinion. The movement, which is Japanese Quartz, is flawless as you might expect. Overall this watch is an absolute steal of a deal, whether you wear it daily or just now and then. Full marks 5 out of 5 for all aspects at this price point. ... show more

The dial is much more blue than in the photo online, which is nice. It adds just the right touch of color for this otherwise unremarkable watch. At this price point, style is hard to come by. Movements are mass-produced and generally dependable enough for most of us. The movement provided with this watch appears to work fine. It's neither gained nor lost time since I set it a few days ago. Setting the time is a little shaky as the minute hand kept moving by a couple minutes as I tried to set it. But a couple tries and I nailed it. The bracelet is serviceable. You will likely need to adjust the links; there is no micro-adjustment on the clasp. I'm not a fan of the spring-clasp, preferring a safety clasp, but again--I keep my eyes on the price point. The watch has enough heft to let you know it's there, but the bracelet is rather light. In the end, this watch lives up to my expectations, which tend to be a tad critical. At this price, it's an attractive option. ... show more

I originally got this for myself and I absolutely love this deep shade of navy/midnight blue on the face, it is stunning in person. It looks WAAAY more expensive and has a really nice weight to it as well however it just looked a little too big on my wrist so I gave it to my dad. *If they make this exact watch in a smaller size (*hint, hint Amazon...) I would buy another for me in a heartbeat. It also is water resistant as well, took a pic of the back for y'all to see as well as the box (*for a gift perhaps?) it comes in. I think this is a great value and looks like a good quality watch. Time will tell but at this price point (and it's an Amazon Brand so no hassle returns) what have you got to lose. I don't see how ANY one could not like this! ... show more

I have a hard time finding watches that fit out of the box, so this was a pleasant surprise. I have a 8.25" wrist so most watches I find I have to get a new band. This is snug, but it fit comfortably. The double clasp is always a good call too. Beautiful watch, came pre-set to the time, though I don't know if that was intentional. Easy to read, set, and use.
