Frequently asked questions

The GPS model of the Apple Watch Series 5 can track your location and measure workouts when your iPhone is with you. Conversely, the GPS + Cellular model can do this independently of your phone. This version allows you to make calls, send texts, and connect to the Internet without being tethered to your iPhone. It requires a separate cellular plan for connectivity.

Yes, the Apple Watch Series 5 is water-resistant up to 50 meters. However, it should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.

A 'Renewed' Apple Watch Series 5 is a pre-owned product that has been refurbished and tested to work and look like new by a qualified supplier or the manufacturer. Renewed products should come with a limited warranty but may arrive in generic packaging with generic accessories.

Yes, the Apple Watch Series 5 comes with an optical heart sensor that is generally accurate for tracking your heart rate during workouts. However, for activities involving complex hand movements, such as weight lifting, the readings may occasionally be less consistent than those from a chest strap monitor.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviewed watch is greatly appreciated for its aesthetics and functionality, though customers have noted concerns primarily with battery life, which requires daily charging, and occasional minor scratches on the screen. It functions well even when refurbished and provides convenience for daily tasks and work.

Pros

  • 🌟 Praises for the watch's design and look.
  • 🔌 Comes with a charger and is reportedly easy to set up.
  • ⌚ Works flawlessly even as a refurbished model, with some having a brand-new battery installed.
  • 💰 Offers a more affordable option compared to new models while delivering similar performance.

Cons

  • 🔋 Battery life is a common issue, with frequent recharging needed.
  • 🧽 Some watches may arrive with minor, almost unnoticeable scratches.

Should I Buy It?

If you value design and functionality and are willing to manage frequent recharging, this watch is a compelling buy. It performs well and can be more budget-friendly, especially if you opt for a refurbished model. Do keep in mind minor cosmetic flaws and consider your needs against the battery life constraint.

Love the watch! Battery fully charges, not a scratch in sight back ofc looks worn but only because it’s used. Has all the bells and whistles to it. Charges just fine. Lasts on charge for a while. Band is super comfortable and comes with 2 different bands one small for the smaller wrists and a longer one for bigger wrists. Perfect size. Definitely worth the money if your looking for a cheaper way to get a series 5 apple watch. I bought it around Black Friday and got it for 162$ and I couldn’t be happier with it!! I was very fear full reading the reviews that it was gonna come in noticeable damaged with a bad battery life but it’s perfect. The battery does drain fast if 1. You have the screen on all the time. 2. The brightness is way up and 3 if you have all your notifications on that you don’t use coming through the watch. I get a good 24+ hours on my watch. I haven’t charged it since yesterday afternoon and I’m still at 86%. It dosent come in original apple box the charger is not original apple but it works just fine. I hope this helps!! ... show more

    • Update: Not the charger fault still get og just in case
Style: GPS + Cellular Size: 40MM Color: Gold Aluminum w Pink Sport Band
Update 02/02/21: After months of testing, I know now that it wasn’t the charger or the outlet or the cable that was making the watch not have enough charge. The fault lies on my family member not needing to unlock the watch and leaving it go into lock mode because of the too many attempts at the passcode (probably from her watch rubbing against her clothes too often without a successful unlock for a while) It seems this lock mode draws a lot of battery so the watch ends up dying quickly. Sorry for this delayed update, wanted to make sure. The watch is great for a refurbished one. Just like in the description no scratches or wear and tears but the cable provided sucks. Get one that is proven to work properly with apple watch. The one provided charges the watch way too slow and gets too hot plus charge doesn’t hold for long because of it. Battery lasted me 3 to 4 hours. Charging with an original charging cable gave me the whole day charge. PSA: Got this for a family member so I can see where they at. Some features like ECG are not available if you do family set up. Must link to an iPhone if you want these missing features. ... show more

The speaker has never worked so I can’t take phone calls from it. Everything is good but that.

UPDATE: I love this watch especially for the price. The battery isn't as good. I use it mainly for working out. So will need to charge it more. This was my first Apple watch. Therefore I was super skeptical about owning a refurbished one. For my first time. But it came in excellent condition. Absolutely zero flaws on the screen and band. Watch works like a charm. I have received many compliments so far on it. It also arrived with a charger. Highly recommended. ... show more

    • Every thing is working
Style: GPS + Cellular Size: 40MM Color: Gold Aluminum w Pink Sport Band
It works it does for the most part what it’s supposed to do, but for some reason the strap falls off one side even though I’ve tried switching it moving it around. I think I’m going to have to purchase a new strap and the battery capacity doesn’t last very long overall it’s good until I can afford a new one. ... show more

    • Worth every bit of the money paid.
Style: GPS + Cellular Size: 40MM Color: Gold Aluminum w Pink Sport Band
I was concerned about buying this watch, but the one I had for years just did not work any longer. Since I was accustomed to an Apple, it was given to me as a gift. Since I'm retired and could not expect another Apple watch as a gift, I decided to do the next best thing, buy a refurbished one. I bought one it came as stated and it works well. As a matter of fact, it works better because it was more updated than the Apple Watch I had. Very good buy for me and my daughter in law set it up for me I could have done it, it's pretty easy. The watch and band were in perfect condition not a scratch any where. ... show more

I bought this watch in 2023 and it’s still doing great! I did switch the band out for a sport loop Velcro one, but otherwise that’s all I’ve changed. It holds a charge all day and tracks my heart rate and steps. It alerts me when I leave my phone behind and never has connectivity issues. I have POTS, so I used it originally to track my heart rate. Now I use it to track workouts and dragon boating practices. It works perfect in the water (make sure to turn on the water proofing first) too. ... show more
