I was worried about the cord fitting, based on some of the reviews. But not to worry, it was a somewhat tight fit and a little strength was needed. It all came together in no time. Very pleased with lamp and shade.

    • Hard to fix the excess wire
This lamp looks very nice on the Internet. The white lampshade, the blue glass, and the wooden base. looks very stylish. However the real product looks slightly different from the Internet, which is not as expected. The main problem with the lamp is that there’s a extended wire in between the body and lithe frame, and there is no manual on how to fix it. At first I tried to pull the wire back at the bottom, but it was very difficult. I didn't want to pull it too hard, because I was afraid that the wire would break, which would damage the light and it was very dangerous. Later, I took the wooden base off the glass body. I was able to fix it, but as a result, I need to buy glue to stick the wooden base back on. ... show more

    • Difficult to assemble

The lamp was exactly what I was looking for. The problem is with the assembly. There’s 10 inches of cord that needs to be fed through the lamp. I tried pushing I tried pulling I ended up cutting the felt on the bottom of the lamp to access the cord. Another issue is attempting to screw the bulb holder to the base. The cord does not turn inside the base leaving the cord twisted. After a lot of work I was able to get the lamp functional. ... show more

This lamp is gorgeous in my guest room. I’ve been freshening up the space during the last few weeks, and this lamp just fits in perfectly. It was easy to assemble by pulling the cord through the bottom of the wood base, attaching the metal connector to the top of the ceramic part of the lamp, then I added the harp, lightbulb and shade. No tools needed, and it only takes a few minutes to get it in working order. The on/off switch is the rotating type to the side of the socket under the shade (very standard). This is a good lamp. The glaze on the grey ceramic looks just a *bit* cheap, but that's entirely subjective; it has a nice shade, it's well-weighted and not prone to topple over, and it is very well-made. This lamp is a nice, beautiful, versatile lamp although I feel like it is overpriced. The most important issue, however, is the packaging. Be prepared for a mess when you open the package. In the package that I received, the foam that used to package this lamp had been destroyed and small pieces of foam were flying everywhere when I opened the package. I am not sure if there is such a thing as quality and low-quality foam but if there is such thing the foam used in this packaging was low-quality foam. It was difficult to pull the cable from the bottom of the lamp base in order to place the socket into its place. Once the socket is in place you need to turn it right to tighten it, and while doing this the cable will be twisted because it cannot move freely. I am afraid that this can result in damage to the cable and can be dangerous if the cable gets damaged. Overall, this is a beautiful lamp but it needs the improvements mentioned above. ... show more

    • Simple but pretty lamp
This lamp is very nice. It's not too big but just right for a side table or nightstand. It's great as a reading lamp next to my reading chair. The base is a nice grey that is neutral and goes with pretty much everything. I love this addition to my reading room!
