With many products, the design may be good but manufacturing it with quality is lacking. This table lamp looks very nice, but came with scratches on the wood. It was not handled carefully. It is lightweight without a heavy base and will fall over easily. Normally, bases in lamps are heavier. It is nice that they included a special lightbulb. Packing was not quality and used primarily styrofoam for the base. The scratches did not occur from shipping and had to be done before it was packed. Quality control?     • Not a perfect stripe
This is an attractive more modern style lamp. My first hesitation, the box is labeled with a huge sign about it being a prop 65 item. That was not on the listing, so I feel like it is important to mention. The wood on the lamp is a light colored shiny veneer. The stripes that have been drawn on the lamp almost look more hand drawn. They are not even and there was not perfection in the stripe. It looks like there was painters tape used to make the line. It wasn’t horribly noticeable, but looking up close on the lamp it definitely was. I like that it’s a taller lamp. It serves well on a side table. It’s easy to turn on and off when they are a little bit larger like this. The painted wood has a more masculine feel to me. It would fit nicely in a boys room or a man cave. ... show more

    • Poorly painted, but a great lamp otherwise
I like the way this lamp looks quite a bit. It's easy to put together and even comes with an LED bulb. Unfortunately, it's only rated for a 60-watt incandescent or LED equivalent. I like having the option of going all the way up to 100 watts, so you lose that flexibility with this lamp. One manufacturing issue that Amazon should look into is the sloppy painting of the black stripe. The edges are not clean and it looks like the paint bled over. It's not terrible and you only notice it when you actually pay attention, but for a brand new lamp, it probably shouldn't have that flaw. Again, despite this, I really like the way the lamp looks and it feels well built. If they made a matching floor lamp, I'd probably be interested. ... show more

This is a nice basic, contemporary lamp. It was very simple to assemble, just attached the top light assembly and the shade. My only complaint would be the dark spokes on the shade they show through a little bit I would love to see the spokes be either gold or white so they don’t show. I love this lamp! The styling is just perfect. It's made of light birch that is stained black on the bottom. It comes with a white lamp shade that is sturdy which is held in place by a screwed on ball on top. The lamp is sturdy and easy to assemble. It even survived a move coming out beautifully.     • Attractive lamp for modern styles
I’ve tried a few of the Amazon brand lamps and I think so far this is a favorite. The design is just distinctive enough but doesn’t become a focal point. I like that it has black, balanced with the lighter wood. It’s a slimmer and taller proportion that I usually see in more traditional pillar style designs, but this has a very clean and contemporary profile. It’s a light lamp, could be knocked over if it took a big bump but the base is heavy enough to be fine in ordinary use. All in all I’m quite pleased with this.
