    • Moderately stylish, but of little practical use
The only thing I really liked about this lamp was the fact that it was fairly easy to assemble and it can be assembled by one person - even if you're past your prime. The bad. I didn't actually measure the thing, but 69 inches? Perhaps the design makes it feel shorter. This floor lamps is not designed for carpeted floor, heck, it's not designed for Victorian houses with vibrating floor. There are certain stability issues and it's definitely a hazard to kids, pets, wheelchairs and the wobbly elderly. The "terrazzo" base simply isn't substantial enough to keep the 69" inch tower from swaying and toppling. Once assembled, I placed the thing on a hardwood floor and saw the globe vibrate for quite an extended period of time from simply setting it down. I live in a loft that was once a machine factory, so the floors are rock solid. I can't image how this thing would respond to the Victorian era apartment that was my prior abode. For me, it was meant to be a practical lighting fixture for my living room and it's too dangerous there. The bulb provided bu manufacturer is definitely too dim for a large space and you might want to make sure this lamp is manufactured to suit your lighting needs. The LED bulb provided feels like it's a 40 watt incandescent equivalent. The long stem does a passable job of imitating bronze, though the base that holds the acrylic globe definitely looks painted. The acrylic globe itself doesn't look nearly as cheap as other reviewers might lead you to believe, but guess what? The junk shops still possess many such globes (in glass) and some in unusual colors, so this might be an opportunity for creativity. The terrazzo base is strange up close. This is the second time in my life terrazzo is actually coming into fashion and the pink version is almost a "clownish" version of the original I remember form the 1970's. Something not quite right about it, it has powdered and fake look to it. STILL, this is a piece that might look well in a remote place for some sort of retro style effect and with a few tweaks, such as a retro globe purchased from a resale shop, it could make a decent statement. Oh, the plug and floor button are made of clear plastic. A good idea in theory, but it does look cheap in person. Fortunately for me it's being powered by a remote switch. ... show more

I really wanted to like this lamp and I still do , however this co needs quality control. Third lamp from this co . I like that the globe is plastic. My major gripe is that it is not flush with the base . No matter how much I reposition it over and over. Did I get a dud? I’m seeing the pictures of other reviews and the globe to base is fine . The other thing is , the instructions are useless. Way worse than ikea . Took me a minute to figure out the set up on my own. How do I get another globe? There is also a marking on the globe. Also, one that actually fits the base. Update- another review actually helped me figure out how to fit the globe flush. Thank you. No issues now . See last picture ... show more

I love the weight of the base. But I was a little disappointed that the globe was more light and plasticky cheap. The stand is also not completely straight. I tried several attempts to straighten without damaging, and had no luck. Otherwise I love the idea. Just poor execution in production and quality. ... show more

SOLID MARBLE BASE wow!! Easy to put together AND A FREE LIGHTBULB!! The package it was shipped had a silicone form to protect it and a ton of packing tape to strengthen the box. I AM SO EXCITED WHEN A PRODUCT MAKES MY LIFE EASIER. NO NEED TO GO TO THE STORE FOR A LIGHT BULB JUST PUT IT TOGETHER AND YOU’RE DONE!! Looks beautiful. The base is quite heavy so no worries of it falling. It was really easy to assemble. I was looking for a lamp that gave out diffused lighting since I have a very expensive lamp that gives out very harsh light that hurts the eyes. I replaced it with this one and I am loving it !

This lamp uses the small neck light bulbs which i didn't realize. It comes with an LED bulb rated 2700 on the warmth scale. I am very particular when it comes to light and I found this light to be too harsh though it was a warm light. There is no dimmer. And the light switch is on the cord which didn't really work for my set up. It is nice but not the right lamp for me. ... show more
