ordered this small cat/dog carrier because I have 5 cats and 2 dogs and was in need of another cat carrier. I tend to like the soft ones for the small and medium size cats much better than I like the plastic ones. After opening I tested this with 2 of my cats. My biggest boy is a very large cat around 20 pounds. I would not use this for him. He can fit in it, but he takes up nearly the entire space and there is nothing left for him to move around in once closed. My other guy is on the larger size of medium-sized. He fits perfectly. In fact he found it pretty cosy. There are quite a few things that I really like about this! It opens at both sides, the top, and one of the longer sides as well! It has a pocket on one of the smaller sides. All four openings are mesh so there is plenty of air moving through. Every opening has two zippers! You can carry it by the handles or the shoulder strap. The bottom is a nice soft mat for the cats to lay on. I don’t like the way it breaks down when not in use. The smaller openings go outward. I tried to fold them inward instead and it didn’t sit right when I did. Perhaps it might work better if I were to take out the bottom, but I wouldn’t want to do that for fear of losing it. I also want to note that I did find two loose threads right away. Overall I think this is a decent quality soft cat carrier that it very similar to others that I have!

This is a nice soft carrier for the price. I like that you can open it from either side or from the top, and all the zippers glide smoothly. It’s lightweight to carry but can hold its shape when it’s sitting on its own. The straps feel sturdy, and you can remove the shoulder strap. It also comes with a soft fuzzy pad for the bottom which is comfortable and rigid enough to stay flat when a pet is inside, but there’s still plenty of room if you prefer to add your own towel or pad for extra cushioning. The listing measurements are accurate and it says the maximum weight is 20 pounds, but there's no way I'd put a pet that size in this small carrier. My very petite 7-pound cat fits perfectly without being too cramped, and that’s about as big as I’d go for comfortable use. A larger pet would need to be one who genuinely doesn’t mind tight, enclosed spaces and is only taking a short trip. The mesh material seems sturdy enough for normal use, but use caution if you have an animal who gets overly anxious in a carrier or likes to chew (I've had my fair share of normally docile cats who become mesh-destroying machines when contained). This is not the carrier for them, especially not on an airplane. Overall, this is a great little carrier: easy to clean, easy to carry, and a good value for the cost. Just make sure you’re choosing it for a smaller pet and for the right type/length of travel.

In terms of size, this is definitely best suited for smaller pets. I have three cats—approximately 8.5 lbs, 10 lbs, and one 12 lb chonky—and none of them can stand fully upright inside because the carrier isn’t very tall. The 8.5 lb cat fits fairly well and has room to move a bit. The 10 lb cat can fit, but it’s not particularly roomy, and I wouldn’t describe it as a comfortable for long duration travel. For my 12 lb cat, the space is way too limited for anything other than a temporary or emergency situation. It would not be fair to put her in this for hours of travel. This carrier is lightweight, easy to store, and has multiple zipper access flaps, which can make vet visits much easier. The construction feels solid, and the stitching and zippers seem dependable. It also folds flat when not in use, which is convenient. Compared to similar carriers in this price range it is a good value. One thing I do wish this design included is optional privacy flaps. The mesh panels provide great airflow, but they also make the carrier very open visually. When cats are in unfamiliar or stressful environments (like the vet or a new place), many feel more secure when they have the option to hide or block out some of what’s happening around them. A partial privacy cover or smaller mesh area would help create more of a safe “den” feeling while still providing ventilation. I included a photo of my cat standing next to the carrier to show how much taller she is than it as well as a comparison photo next to the carrier I typically use so the smaller size is a bit clearer. Overall, this is a well-made carrier with good access points and sturdy construction, but it’s best suited for shorter or smaller cats under about 10lbs. Technically I think this can hold a heavier weight but the dimensions are too cramped for larger cats.

Our cat, like many other cats, can be unpredictable and finicky. It's just a cat thing. Therefore, whenever I order her something whether food, toys, accessories, etc., I'm never sure what the outcome will be. So, when I ordered this carrier it was a gamble as to whether she would like it or not... it appears that she approves! (see photos) The carrier is a nice size for our kitty, she's not very large, only about 11 pounds. The carrier is durable and sturdy, lots of zippers and windows so we can see each other and/or to reach in to pet/soothe her if she's anxious. With the removable lamb’s wool cushion bottom, it appears very comfortable and she's already trying to lay inside it on her own. I prefer that she get well accustomed to this carrier ahead of time so when the time comes to use it, she will be familiar and not skittish. There’re several ways to put her in or take her out - very convenient. Although it has a flap on the back that can be hooked to the top of a rolling suitcase handle, it also has an adjustable shoulder strap to make it easier to carry while lugging suitcases around through the airport. I believe the price point at ≈$20 for the carrier is very fair.
