The lamp is cute and actually very well built. However, the lightbulb is right at the edge of the shade, which makes it unusable for my purpose. Too bad, because I really liked it in every other aspect.

The Amazon Basics Rectangular Metal Base Table Lamp with LED Bulb - 9.5" x 5.5" x 10.2", Brushed Nickel is an attractive modern lamp with angular lines that looks great with a variety of decor. Everything is included to use the lamp (bulb and cord.) It's compact, and no-nonsense. Unlike similar lamps I've ordered recently, this one is very basic. There is no touch feature on the lamp itself- you just use the switch on the cord the "old fashioned way" to turn it on and off. There is no option to dim the lamp to adjust the light at all, and there is no plug or port on the base of the lamp to add anything else to charge. In a way, I love the simplicity of it. I was expecting this lamp to be dim and moody, and contribute to the look and feel of my master bedroom. However, it's anything but. In spite of the black shade, the light bulb included is CRAZY BRIGHT. The short lamp shade does not do much to shield the eyes- light spills over the top, blinding me. I may change the bulb to something else to see if I can get the effect I was anticipating from this lamp. I'm honestly shocked by how bright it is, even with the black lamp shade. If you are looking for a modern compact lamp that has the black and silver colour scheme, but want it to give off a lot of light and perform brightly, this is the lamp for you. I honestly did not expect it to provide so much light based on what I saw from the design.

This lamp is small, so check the dimensions to be sure it's what you want. I do like the rectangular shape, and it has a nice updated look. This does work okay for a bedside lamp in my boys' room. The bulb is not well hidden by the shade, which probably goes less than an inch above the top of the bulb, so you're seeing bare bulb when you look at it from any vantage above the top of the shade. The felt that covers the bottom of the base also isn't well trimmed, so it has a bit of a scruffy look. It comes with LED bulb. The switch is about a foot down the cord, so that makes it relatively easy to turn on and off, as long as you're able to have the cord in an accessible location. I wish the shade was mounted higher, so the bulb was more hidden, as that would make this a pretty nice lamp. Alternatively, maybe you can find a low-profile LED bulb, which would also alleviate the issue. If you are able to put it in a higher location, that may not be an issue for you.

We got a new apartment for rent and needed to get a lot of things form scratch. There were no lights in this place, but this night lamp was promising. Well what can I say? I was disappointed when the product arrived. That’s because the lamp was way smaller than typical night lamps! I didn’t even bother checking the sizing especially since I am not too comfortable with inches/ft measurements. It didn’t even occur to me that this lamp could be tiny. Well it was. Else it is nice if that’s the size you expect.

I know I probably shouldn't be this excited about a table lamp but honestly, this is the most amazingly perfect light EVER!!! Here's what you get in the box: the black lampshade, the silver lamp base with cord, instructions, and an LES light bulb! Back story for my excitement: I previously had a Christmas Cactus on top of this wine stand with a small clip on grow light that I kept on at night but moved it into my new office at work last week. Thus leaving my downstairs area pitch black for my deputy sheriff husband to come home to in the middle of the night where he started having issues with our cats running under his feet and him tripping. I quickly realized how much that little grow light did for the area at night, and started looking for a replacement option. I knew I wanted a small light to sit there and was very excited when I found this lamp available, with everything included. For starters, its size is perfect. Small, compact, with a sleek design and beautiful rectangular lampshade . Its super modern style, silver base, and black shade make it perfect for any space or decor arrangement. Don't let the size fool you though, what you get is an attractive lamp with a powerful punch that puts off an excellent amount of light providing plenty of warmth and ambiance to a room. It really did change the look of my downstairs kitchen area. I couldn't be happier with what I received! Amazon Basics Rectangular Metal Base Table Lamp We are still on the lookout for lamps, and I took this one when it was offered. This is definitely a compact table lamp and being right next to it feels like it is two-thirds the size of a typical desk lamp. Functionally, it does exactly what a desk lamp should do. It has a thumb-switch on the power cord rather than on the base or at the socket. As a table lamp, it works great and the base even has enough weight that a gust from an open window wouldn't knock it over. Personally, I wouldn't use it in a location where you someone would be standing near it for very long; the reason is simply that it and the lampshade are so squat that you end up having the glare of the light bulb right in your eyes. This isn't a design flaw but more of a point to consider when deciding where you want to put it. Highly recommend.
