This mattress pad is like a terry clothe, I wasn't expecting that when it came in the mail. Last night we had our first accident and it did absorb most of it, however the mattress did get a little wet. Not sure if that's just typical with some mattress pads (this is my first one) but I was a little disappointed. I will probably be purchasing a different brand to see if it works better.

Urine/liquid DOES penetrate through....so that defeats its purpose. We even hang dry these after a wash (obnoxiously tedious). So....what we end up doing now is placing a pee MAT on top of this yet underneath the regular fitted sheet to catch the urine of our kids. WASTE OF MONEY, TIME AND ENERGY. Strongly don’t recommend.

Great mattress protector! It truly does protect my mattress from liquids and it’s soft, easy to clean and I haven’t had any issues with it! This order is actually my second order of this product because I liked it so much I bought more for other mattresses in my house!

To call this waterproof is a BIG stretch. Maybe if you set a damp towel down on the bed briefly, or spilled a bit of water then immediately cleaned it up, the layer beneath would stay dry. If you have a toddler who has an accident on it, forget it. Thankfully I had a second set of sheets with an actually waterproof base layer underneath this on the night in question, but that bottom layer was soaked heavily after just a few minutes.

It does the job of protecting the mattress. Our twins have wet the bed almost nightly and it's only failed once. That being said the failure happened a year or some into this products life. With almost daily washings (I do follow the wash instructions which is very important, if you don't follow them you will kill the waterproofing on your first wash) the waterproof part is starting to fall off. I think it's held up pretty well for how much it's "used". It would have been better if the material lasted longer hence only 3 stars. For some kid that might only wet the bed a few times a month this product should last a good while. I am ordering 4 more. I ordered 4 because we have two beds and we cycle them so we have one set in the wash one set on the mattresses.

Very upset with Amazon and this product right now!! So far, this had been a great product. For everyday, it did it's job, but today, today when my daughter had a potty accident, it did not! Very upset with this!! This is a waterproof cover! It should have not let the pee through! Guess I'll be looking for a new mattress protector.
