I used these to fill my pool from my well. In comparison to last year (without filter) the water is less green at first fill, but it is still tinged a little. I guess it helped. One of the two that came in the pack did not attached securely to my hose, but the other was perfect. Odd, but i chalk it up to more mass production and low quality control. Might buy again. Unsure.

Grrr.... I have bought the same type of filter in a few different brands and they all possess the same irritating design flaw. Price, excellent Simplicity in design, perfect Function..... Ooops TESTING??? The male end of the stupid thing is just a little too short compared to a hose which the whole system is based on. With a hose.... At the end of the threads on the male end... the remainder maintains the same outer diameter of the threaded section and sometimes is even narrower. On many female fittings the leading edge of the fitting bottoms out on the filter portion of the device instead of male bottoming out in the female and then sealing... With this happening the male doesn't make it in far enough to seal and it doesn't get the job done (just going to ignore such an opportune time for some cheap humor.... Maybe I'm just not up to it) this can be solved sometimes depending on the players (hose, rv fitting, filter, splitters etc.) with a second bib washer but be prepared for leaks AND AGAIN EVEN ON THE FEMALE END DEPENDING ON THE PLAYERS ESPECIALLY WITH NEWER HOSES WITH THE BIG MACHINED FITTINGS. If you get past all of that bs..... It's a fine filter..... It definitely knocks your water pressure down a reasonable but noticeable amount... Can't imagine how to avoid it using any filters. Other than the proceeding issues.... An obviously simple and effective filter at a great price.
