Review Title: Amazing tech until it inevitably bricks—save your money. I really wanted to love these. For the first few weeks, I felt like I was living in the future—the photos were crisp, the music sounded great, and the convenience was unmatched. But the honeymoon phase didn’t just end; it crashed and burned. The 30-Day Meltdown Less than a month in, the right speaker started crackling before cutting out entirely. Now, my "smart" glasses are just expensive, quiet plastic. On top of that, the connectivity is a nightmare. I spend more time toggling Bluetooth and force-closing the app than actually using the features. The Support & Insurance Trap The hardware failure is frustrating, but the customer service is genuinely insulting. Dealing with their support team is like talking to a wall; they just loop you through the same basic "reset" steps you’ve already tried ten times. And don’t even get me started on the insurance. I paid extra for "protection," but filing a claim is a bureaucratic circus designed to make you give up. When they finally acknowledged the issue, they tried to low-ball the reimbursement, offering an amount that wouldn't even cover a refurbished pair. Bottom Line: These are incredible glasses right up until they fail—which happens fast. If you buy these, you’re basically gambling $300+ that you won’t get a lemon, because if you do, the company will do everything in its power to short-change you.

I’ve been extremely impressed with the Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses. The design looks just like a stylish pair of Oakleys, so they don’t feel bulky or overly “techy,” which I really appreciate. The audio quality is surprisingly clear for open-ear speakers, and it’s great being able to listen to music, take calls, or ask Meta AI questions without needing earbuds. The built-in camera is also a really cool feature for capturing quick photos and videos from your perspective. Battery life has been solid for everyday use, and the charging case makes it easy to keep them powered up. Overall, they combine great Oakley style with genuinely useful technology. If you want smart glasses that actually feel practical and look good, these are definitely worth it.

I’m really impressed with these Oakley Meta HSTN glasses. The design is sleek and modern, while still being lightweight and very comfortable to wear for long periods. The lenses are crystal clear and provide excellent protection from glare, making them perfect for both everyday use and outdoor activities. The build quality feels premium — solid but not heavy. The included case and cleaning bag are a nice touch and keep everything protected when I’m not wearing them. I’ve received multiple compliments already, and they definitely stand out compared to other frames. If you’re looking for a pair of glasses that combine style, durability, and comfort, I highly recommend these. Oakley nailed it with this design!

The media could not be loaded. Okay I’m going to put some effort into this review because I been eying this for some time now. Here we go! Initial Impression I was disappointed at first because the pair sent to me were used when I paid for brand new. The product packaging was already opened and not attached. The battery tab was already removed and the glasses were paired to another account. It let me factory wipe them and pair to mine an Amazon made the situation right with a partial credit so I was happy. Feel of the Glasses The glasses are thicker than normal sunglasses, especially by Oakley standard, but that is expected since they have to build the actual smart functions inside the frame. Overall it felt fine on my head. I’m a bigger guy and the glasses fit well. I was nervous because I saw reviews that said they were too small. I’m 6’1, 300lbs and I have no issue. Lens Transitioning This is my first main disappointment. I saw people say how they didn’t protect against the sun as much as they hoped and I echo that statement. The lens also don’t fully transition to how the stock image looks and takes about 5 minutes to even start to darken. The attached images were after going for a 30 minute walk at 8:30-9 AM this morning when the sun was shining brightly. I wish they could be better at blocking the light once transitioned. Camera The camera is amazing. The video and picture quality is perfect. I can’t say much more about it. I wouldn’t change a thing! Sound The sound is great as well! If you have it turned up people will hear your speaker if they are next to you but at a mid level it is hardly noticeable to outside people at all. Functionality I love the features it provides. Live AI is awesome since you do not had to keep saying “Hey Meta.” You can simply ask it questions while running. The AI could use some work but as with all AI’s they are works in progress. The glasses are updatable and get new features added with updates so I’m excited to see where it all can lead. Battery The battery seems to be lacking. I was at 100% this morning and played music during my walk and it ended up hitting 80% after about 25 minutes. This was my first real use though so I’m going to give the battery another test after a few days in case any background updates or syncing or anything else was going on. Overall I think the glasses are pretty good. I’d say it’s more on the high end of 3 star and if the lenses could transition faster and darker that could bump it up to a 4 or 5. Since I got a partial refund for them being a return (which could also play a factor in my battery life) I think the value for my money was good but would have been a little bummed if I had spent the full amount. Will update as I use them more and after any new updates that come out! They are a new product so I’m sure there will be growing pains so I’m excited to see where they end up!
