abunda_amazon_reviews I've owned this filter for 4 years and have used it on countless backpacking trips across the United States. I feel like its easy to use and the flow rate is pretty good. The taste is always crisp, although I haven't tried it on the nastiest water I've seen. I totally trust this filter. Recently, I had an issue with a seal during pumping and some of the water/air would get pushed back instead of through the correct way. I reached out to their customer service about the issue and asked for a specific part to fix it. They replaced the whole filter for free (with a very quick turnaround even during a time when many supply chains are inhibited!), even though they couldn't find records of my purchace. They hold to their lifetime guarantee and don't put up a fuss. I definitely recommend this filter.;;Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2020;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Easy to use, great taste, actual lifetime guarantee!;;Michael L;;;I haven't used it in the field but i took it apart, tested it, and cleaned it. I personally tested this filter with water pumped from an irrigation pond/ hazard at the local golf course. This pond had surrounding trees and grasses inhabited by birds and other critters. I made the assumption that the water contained coliform bacteria but not other hazardous substances since the water contained numerous pollywogs and "water skeeters". It required 50 strokes to fill a pint-sized plastic water bottle. I purchased a "PurTest Home Water Analysis" kit from Amazon and tested this "purified" water. The test results included a negative or zero response on the following: Chlorine, Copper, Iron, Lead, Nitrites, pesticides, and, no coliform bacteria. This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water. I didn't test the pond water to determine content because the Question to be answered was: Using this "purification filter - means 0.01 micron pore size - can I get potable water from a dirty pond source. Answer was yes. I'm very satisfied with this filter and have recommended to my friends that they have one of these available should a Major Event occur that interrupts the city water supply for an extended period - 2 weeks and more.;;Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2016;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water.;;John T., Banning, CA.;;;I needed something that would weed out viruses as well as debris while I was traveling and working in Peru. The thought of being able to drink from any water source sounded like a pipe dream, until now. First off, I decided to go with this filter based off my experience with their support staff. I asked some pretty solid questions since I wanted to make sure (like 100% sure) that this would work for me as it's going to be directly pumping into my innards and all. I didn't just want a filter, I wanted something that would purify the water from viruses and guarantee as much as possible that I wouldn't be ingesting any more baddies. I heard back the same day (just an hour or so later actually) from their support team and we passed a volley of emails across which helped answer not only my questions but also gave me a lot of new insights about the nature of the stomach issues I had experienced previously while in Peru. They definitely know their stuff. More importantly, their support staff wanted to ensure that I would be getting the right product I needed even more than selling me one of theirs. Ironically, this is what sold me immediately. Their sincerity is something special. Secondly, I'm giving it an absolute thorough field test here in Peru. After receiving it I only had time to read the manual and run some regular tap water through to make sure I knew how to clean it and immediately enjoyed its simplicity as well as the taste from my regular water source at home. I would be flying out in two days to Pucallpa, Peru inside the very humid Amazon basin where I've previously suffered many a few nights of stomach gut-wrenching episodes already. Here in Peru there's really not much of an option other than buying a lot of plastic water bottles and well, they don't exactly recycle here so that sucks. Since having it along (two weeks), I've filtered out 70+ liters of tap water (which looks and tastes foul coming straight from the tap here). Once through the filter it's nearly sweet as honey and looks fantastic. I've not only been without any ailments but I'm able to drink as much water as I can and that alone is already a bonus. Cleaning the filter has been a must after every use because of the humidity and iron rich water but it's holding up well and is super easy to clean. The indigenous community that I've been working with is equally impressed and we're all excited about the potential of such a device. That was the first of the tests, I'm now up in the high altitudes of the Andes and giving it another round of tests with the agricultural area and rivers and lakes and well, anything that I can find. It even survived a puppy that decided to try its best to chew the cotton filter to pieces, although damaged the filter still produces clean water and a great flow rate. This filter far exceeded my expectations and I'm still traveling on here without any issues from the water. Everyone that has come into contact with it is equally amazed at how small and simple it is for what it produces. Well done team.;;Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2015;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;A serious filter in a serious environment.;;Monte Amador

This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water.
This filter works as advertised - at least as well as filtering out all coliform bacteria. I'm very satisfied with this filter and have recommended to my friends that they have one of these available should a Major Event occur that interrupts the city water supply for an extended period - 2 weeks and more.

A serious filter in a serious environment.
I needed something that would weed out viruses as well as debris while I was traveling and working in Peru. Well done team.
