Our pup loves this crate. It comes with a small pad, I add soft blankets and one of those stuffed dogs they sleep with...she only goes in for night time, settles right down and goes to sleep. I keep it on top of a large tub by the side of the bed, so she can see us. Yesterday she got stung by a bee on her paw...she ran to her crate and sat down by it...so after treating the bee sting, she did the same thing, so I put her in and she settled right down and took a nice long nap...I laid on the bed and read to keep my eye on her . I had rubbed neosporin with pain relief into her bite area after holding her paw in cold water in the sink. She was all better post nap in her safe place.

This was recommended to me by someone who cares for and adopts out feral kittens and cats. I happened to have gotten my 2 kitties from them and they had suggested this in case one of them ever needed to go to the vet and I wasn't able to catch them. They recommended throwing treats and toys and things in there so they get comfortable with it and then if ever they needed to go they wouldn't freak out hopefully. It's pretty big for these 2 cats but this size or the one that's just the next smaller down probably would've been okay for both of them. I had to watch one of the videos on this site to unfold it but it's not too hard to figure out and really really sturdy.

I recently moved cross country with two cats and a large dog. My two cats cannot go into the same crate even though this would have been plenty big enough for both of them. I bought two of these (one for each cat) to travel 1900 miles in the back hatch of my Subaru Outback. It was a tight squeeze but I managed to get BOTH crates in the back hatch (one of the crates I had to release the top frame bracket to squeeze it in). Each cat was able to have a small litter box to the rear of the crate, a small bed and a small bowl of water and food to keep them comfortable for the trip. These crates are big and roomy (taller than I needed but that's ok) and the top and sides were mesh, so the cats didn't feel too confining and were able to receive light and look out from the top since the sides were blocked by the hatch door and sides. They were also able to get proper ventilation as I also purchased two small USB fans to plug in the back hatch so they wouldn't get too hot back there. These crates also contained any messes that happened during the trip, such as spilled food and litter being kicked out by either cat, so it didn't get all over the back of my vehicle. These crates were also fairly lightweight for me to carry from the vehicle to the hotel rooms...... a bit bulky but lightweight enought that I didn't need assistance carrying despite their larger size. I also love that they fully collapse for storage, waiting for the next long car ride :) These would be great for small to medium dogs too.

This carrier is still going! I'm writing this review because it's been three years and today I'm making it ready for the 2023 hurricane season. If you have two bonded cats it's perfect. (A dog is probably too heavy for this carrier) We can even fit a small disposable litter box in there. We moved our cats from NY to FL in this, wedged between the seats of our uhaul, in 2020. We used it to evacuate from Hurricane Ian last year. It looks cheap but it has a strong metal structure. The seams, the zippers and the velcro are still holding up well. The cushioned pad on the floor has been machine washed at least 10 times. Best money we ever spent.

I have a large dog and travel frequently. So much light than a metal kennel and closes down nicely. The one thing, it seems to be hotter inside for my dog and even when I open all the zipper air pockets, she still runs hotter, than a metal kennel. So, I make sure to keep it in open spaces, for air flow.
