First impressions: this is soft & comfy! It's unfortunately missing a chunk from the bottom/top (we guess from someone grabbing it too roughly while packing). Not quite a big enough deal to go through the hassle of returning & reordering, as there was no option given for exchanging it or for direct messaging the seller about issues. It hugs you, without the feeling of sinking in. Has held its shape, so far, without any permanent divets that I've experienced with memory foam. Alternative Latex foam: This is firm only in comparison to memory foam. A good way to think of it is 50% firmer than memory foam, but 50% less firm than "standard" foam. Has a bit more bounce back (resilience) than memory foam. The packing slip rates it at 20 ILD (google it) with a 2.5 lb/ft3 density. My gut tells me it will last two years max, so I don't advise buying it as a more permanent solution. It is decent as a transitional layer on top of a firm base, such as springs. It will not stiffen up a soft mattress. Bottom line: buy it to soften a firm mattress as an alternative to memory foam. ... show more
