Surprisingly easy to install. All parts accounted for and fit well together. Programming can be a little confusing, but all works well. Several combinations can be programmed, so everyone has their own combo. Buttons are a bit close together, which can make entering combinations with gloves on. Key works smoothly. The only big con I have is the upper part with the batteries, motor and bolt doesn't seem to get tight enough where will stay straight. I'm constantly adjusting it. 1 year update: Purchase a lock from Home Depot, not Amazon!!! I originally left a 5 star review because I thought the product was great. However, I’ve had it exactly 1 year and it is defective. Amazon refuses to replace the item. The customer service experience was absolutely terrible, I was even hung up on by a “supervisor”. It’s very discouraging because you want to purchase a product for home security that will last. This product is not it unless you want to continue replacing it and being charged more each time. I originally paid $59 and now it’s almost $80. I followed all instructions, replaced the batteries twice and it still will not work without using the key. Amazons solution was for me to return the product leaving me without a lock on my door for a “partial” refund. They would not offer a replacement or a credit to cover the price difference. Original review: The only issue is the instructions - they’re visual alphabetic instructions. It was pretty easy to figure out, but annoying at first. They do have YouTube videos for back up. We had everything swapped out within 15 minutes. Works great, love the black matte and the handle style - I also like there’s a back up key. You do need 4 AA batteries. ... show more

    • Good Looking/Keys Stick/Programming Confusing

The lock and door handle look very nice. Installation was pretty easy as well. However, the programming was very confusing - too many code items to put in! I had bought 2 other more expensive fingerprint locks before and now realize, you get what you pay for. I’m returning this and purchasing the other more expensive lock. The programming of those (Even with the extra finger print programming) was so much easier than this one! On this lock, you have to change the programming code and your user code. Sounds simple but it’s NOT! On the more expensive fingerprint lock, I simply chose my user code, which then also became my programming code. On this lock there is simply too much to remember, the instruction manual will become lost over time and you will be stuck, not to mention frustrated to the max! Another problem I noticed is that the keys are tough to push down compared to the more expensive lock I bought. They stick and don’t always register, so you have to keep trying, ugh! It’s such a bummer that I now have to remove this lock and try to return it so I can get the other one again. Save yourself the trouble and just buy the more expensive lock with the finger print feature. After all, you get the lock for convenience not headaches! Hope this helps you! ... show more
