First of all, I would say that in my opinion, this seems to be commercial grade quality to me. It is super strong. Now that it is install I can lift my entire fat but with just one railing and it does not budge. Now, installing this will be your challenge. The studs in our walls did not work for the railings. So we had to make some decorative 2x6 would pieces and run them horizontally across multiple studs on each wall next to the toilet to have something strong enough to fasten the railing to on each side of the toilet. Now that they are installed, they are rock solid. As long as you keep in mind the need for something solid to mount to, you will not be disappointed with these. I needed something to help me get in and out of the shower (tub). I was anxious about a suction device holding or drilling into ceramic tiles, so I get this to screw in vertically in the door next to the tub. Just the right tool for the job! Mr. Natural would be proud!

My husband had purchased a Glacier Bay grab bar from Home Depot for $30.00. I decided I needed one for my bath also, so went online and purchased this one, an Amazon Basic. The surprise was that it is exactly the same product! The hardware and packaging is the same, with the only difference being that the one my husband purchased had a sticker on the box showing what it was, whereas the Amazon Basic one was in a plain box. I've bought 5 of these safety grab bars because I recently broke my ankle and I've been too afraid to step into our tub/shower, which we are remodeling now. These are the same quality as you'll find in a big box store or on a specialty website; I don't know how this can be so beautifully made and quickly shipped for such a low price.     • Solid Bar with Proper Installation

I mounted this bar horizontally in my shower that is walled with 5/16" thick hard plastic material. Installation was a bit of a bother and involved some guess work and a couple of trips to the hardware store. My first issue was not being able to locate studs magnetically behind the shower wall, but I wanted the bar centered anyway so I decided to use wall anchors. I drilled the holes with a 5/16" masonry bit that worked well without walking. After some 10-12 size anchors and silicone caulk did not hold fast when the #10 screws began turning, I replaced them with 12-14 size ribbed plastic wall anchors by Hillman that provided a very tight press fit. I put some Gorilla glue around the anchors for additional grip and waterproofing and tapped them flush to the wall with a dowel and small hammer, and let them fully cure for 24 hours. I installed three anchors per side for maximum strength. I mounted the bar to the anchors with #10 stainless pan head screws that provided a good tight fit and hold. I also had some #12 screws on hand, but tried the #10s first and went with them. The two end covers push on and twist tight against the wall. The final result looks great and is super solid.
