  • Non-standard spool width
Color: Red
My printer (Raise3D N2Plus) can't handle this spool width properly. This is a non-standard spool and for no good reason. I have ordered these before as it's a good price/performance, but I have had to re-spool the filament to empty standard width spools before I can use it. That's a real pain. Standard spools are approx 64 mm wide.. this stuff comes on a ~75 mm wide spool. Check that you can use this width on your printer. The N2Plus has a door (fully enclosed printer) that can't shut properly with this spool loaded and the spindle doesn't even accept this width properly. ... show more

  • works sort of but is very brittle
I ordered this ABS color, so that I could match an existing cover color. After a lot of futzing with the 3D settings (which I never had to do) and a lot of poor quality prints, I finally got it to work, after the 3D printer company sent me setting help. Then, I needed to print a different item, something I've done many times previously with HATCHBOX ABS 3D Printer Filament (white). While it printed the shape fine, it was so brittle that even carefully getting it off the adhesion plate (carefully removing the flexible cover, then slightly flexing the cover, which I've done about a billion times) caused the item to crack. ... show more

  • Run it Hot!
I have only ever used ABS to print on a Maker Select since 2016. Normally cheap filament prints at 235C and I always run the bed at 110C. (otherwise it will warp.) This stuff threw me for a loop for a week. I found that I had to run it at 250C otherwise it would not give me any flow and there were tiny particles in it that did not melt. Having been in the plastics industry for 20 yrs I know that this has a lot of fillers in it to cheapen it up. But that's ok it works well. ... show more

  • Spool explosion
Color: Assorted Colors
The black abs โ€œexplodedโ€ on the spool. This is normally kept in a gasketed dry box with plenty of desiccant. In the current Michigan climate, in my office with baseboard/boiler heat, it is 24% humidity. This popped like a spring.

  • No vacuum sealed wrapping. Spool is too wide to fit into vacuum sealable bags sold on Amazon.
I have not had a chance to try this ABS filament, and may never have. The reel comes shrink wrapped in light plastic with no vacuum sealing. I don't know if moisture has gotten into it and will affect the prints. When I noticed the light wrapping I decided to move the reel into a vacuum bag. The reel was to thick to fit through the top of the bag without breaking the locking seal. A thinner, larger diameter reel would have been better. The vacuum bags I'm using are sold on Amazon for this purpose. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XJRYWFB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ... show more

  • My first attempt at ABS
So far I have been having good luck printing with this ABS. I haven't used much ABS (mostly PLA) so I've been working through some kinks. My biggest problem has been bed adhesion and removing prints. Most of the bed issues I think were in my setup, and I have resolved most of them with a bit of tinkering and some glue stick. When removing prints I've had some issues with layer separation as well. Looks like the biggest trick to this is going slow during removal and not applying too much force, or twisting the print. I've had good luck using a little bit of canned air to help pop the print off then slowly going around with a razor. One note during printing, I do hear a decent amount of popping/snapping which may mean there could be a bit of water/moisture in the material. Overall, very happy with my purchase and have had good luck with the prints. Printer: Monoprice maker select V2 Print temp: 250C Bed temp: 100C ... show more

  • Dont know if its my settings or the ABS
Color: Assorted Colors
OK what a deal, right, couldnt get any PLA for some reason during the start of the lockdown (don't knw were people printing TP with PLA..not a good idea) so I bought this ABS as my printer can utilize different materials. After replacing my beds normal surface with Kapton Tape and aquanet (instead of Painters Tape) went to work printing. Seems this stuff LOVES to clog. Loves to gum up the stepper motor and does not like to adhere to the bed and to itself for that matter. Again might be my settings but after multiple tweaks and tries and going through 2 spools still not achieving the same level of detail I could with PLA (same printer) I am at the point of assuming its the ABS or ABS in general. ... show more
