For key fob use, you may have to gently bend the tabs of the fob. The battery wouldn't work at first. So I did more research that suggested I needed a 2032 name brand battery, instead of a generic 2016. That was too big. I then realized I probably wasn't getting a connection because the cr2016 battery was loose. So I held the rounded part of the battery holder in place while I bend the tabs down a bit. Yes! It works now!
