AlveyTech Universal Trunk Mount Bracket is a 14-3/16" extension to your scooter's 1" rear accessory hitch with a welded steel platform that has been milled to accommodate a wide range of trunk cases, baskets, even plastic milk crates or boxes. When we call this "Universal" we mean it. Because different mobility scooter brands use different size accessory attachments, mobility scooter seat accessory mount brackets have three adjustment holes along the square-tube shank; 3/16", 1/4", and 3/8" to mate up with the clevis pin or bolt holes on your accessory bar. The strong 6-3/4" x 4-3/4" milled steel platform sports a copious pattern of 10 elongated holes so just about any brand-name or aftermarket trunk, basket, or case will fit. We include three 1-1/2" long quick-release pins with this scooter hitch seat bracket; one in each of the most commonly used diameters: 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8". Note: Because we have had these made to fit the widest possible range and variety of mobility scooter and power chair models, your scooter trunk or lockbox may fit close to the seat back, especially if you use the 3/16" attachment hole. If that is the case you might have to fold your seat back forward to raise the lid or top cover on your trunk or box. This is a GREAT concept and was the ideal solution for adding a child seat to the back of my mobility scooter for theme park trips. The only issue is that the holes don't like up very well with my scooter back, so there is not enough support and the hitch sags when it's installed. I needed to find a way to haul my toddler around amusement parks and looked for hours for a good solution. She's getting too big to sit on my lap for extended amount of time. We first used a wagon to pull her around but that made backing up super difficult and turning in tight spaces nearly impossible. I figured I'd give this a try and attach a bike seat in the back, and it actually worked! Daughter is 4 yrs old, we only used the seat; she held onto the back of my chair instead of the handlebars and rested her feet on the back of my scooter instead of the included footrest. However I was only able to mount 2 of the 4 screws as only 2 lined up properly. We used the parallel bracket that came with the seat and fastened that across for added security but even with the two screws it was super stable. Daughter is around 30 pounds and there were no issues. I had someone weighing around 80 pounds sit on it and it was still solid. Here's the seat I bought in case anyone else needed a solution as well. I saw one prior reviewer saying he was looking for the something similar. However I will say that I haven't had a chance to go to any amusement parks yet, just shopping at Costco and riding around for fun. I'll report back once I do though, but I don't see it being a problem.
