  • Great stakes— right length, lightweight and NOT BENDY
Color: Orange
These stakes are great, go for it. The item photo makes them appear to be the ubiquitous triangular aluminum stakes at Wally World and the like, but these are much better. Why ? - They aren’t too long, a typical annoyance with similar stakes in big box camping aisle grab bins. They’re also not weenies that pop out at the first tug. - They are plenty—if not surprisingly— light but not ultra gram weenie Titanium/Helium/magic unicorn light. Save $$ here in exchange for a negligible bit of weight. If you’re concerned about the weight... seriously, don’t fret: these are A-OK. - They are quite sturdy. You CAN bend & wreck them (I have on one) by hard driving into rock or, like me, step/tripping on them but it takes a hearty goof to do so. They’ll last ages if you don’t wail on them like a carnival beast haha. - The three ridge teeth things on the top end are extremely useful, especially if you use paracord for guyline tie-downs. I’ve not seen stakes with this feature and I love it. - You get a bunch. Tent + tarp day shelter, hammock rainfly in wind, ready spares... whatever. It’s nice to have a handful available for now and later. Real world trials and performance: I have a Hyke & Byke 1p Zion for backpacking and generally set up a separate tarp fly with my trekking poles and paracord guys for a day shelter and water collection (Sawyer 1 gal bag) if it is rainy. Makes playing QRP ham radio in camp much more fun :-). Anyway, H&B gear ships with plenty of high quality ultralight stakes but they are SO easy to bend if you hit a root or rock even if being careful. THESE stakes are FAR stronger, similar length and only a few grams each heavier. And yes, H&B’s little pusher disk thing to drive the stakes fits perfectly. Definitely superior. If you use H&B tents or similar gear, this pack of stakes is well worth considering. Plus like I said, you get a bunch. I’ve used these stakes now for three backpacking trips: two in the Hoosier Nat Forest (Deam wilderness) in both high ridge/dense forest and lakeside; and most recently on a 5 day/22 mi loop through Dolly Sods WV... in all environments the stakes dug in, stayed put and didn’t get thrashed even against serious wind gusts. Forest floor, dense sand+small rock, rain/gentle mud & clay, semi-soggy grass... these things got the job done everytime with reasonable site selection and patience. I cannot ask more from my gear. I leave the other stakes in my collection at home now... the new ones have totally proven themselves. The only stakes I miss a little are the skinny hook/crook things that make small grommets on ground tarps easy... but those nasty things bend just looking at them. So I tie up a small paracord loop through the grommets or use zip ties, place these new stakes just outside the grommet (they don’t fit in the hole) and the job gets done. Good luck, happy camping. ... show more

  • Great value
Color: Red
I wanted to replace my cruddy aluminum wire type pegs because they bend so easily, so I bought these. They appear to be plenty sturdy, being extruded aluminum, and I like the multiple notches and pull strings. Definitely a good buy.

  • Good value, some broke
Color: Orange
These are nice aluminum stakes for the price, however the alloy they use is quite brittle and we had two break on their first or second use when being driven in the somewhat rocky ground.

  • Perfect stakes for training trees
Color: Red
Knew I’d have stakes outside for months at a time for training some trees. These work perfectly for that. They’re more durable than plastic ones so you can get them through tough ground or roots that may be nearby. Didnt really matter for my case but they’re super lightweight. I like that they’re easy to see when mowing but not overly obvious from further away. ... show more

  • Do yourself a favor and upgrade those cheap tent stakes
Color: Orange
These stakes are awesome. I got them in black and orange. These do such an awesome job of securing my gear even in high winds. I bent so many stakes in the desert but these guys are indestructible. They easily pop out with the back of a hammer or pry bar. They are very lightweight and durable. I am throwing away my shepherds hook tent stakes and upgrading all of them with these instead. No more bending or warping! 10/10 recommend these. ... show more

  • Use is limited
Color: Black
If one is staking in sand and or soft to medium density top ground (field), Then these aluminum stakes will work just fine. If it is hard and/or rocky ground, then they are not adequate for the job. They did not work for our set-up location at all. But I did not expect this ground when I purchased it, so not a fair test. I feel they are TOO LIGHTLY made for real-life use in backpacking! They are great for setting up tents and awnings at the beach or backyards for the kids! I made a mistake! wrong stakes. I expected better quality and durability when shopping for them. Perfect for light duty...not for medium to heavy duty. Tested and reviewed by Sam. ... show more

  • 2nd Pack
Color: Red
I repurchased these in red because when I initially bought them they were only in black. They are light and strong. The only issue I had was the black ones are a little hard to find in the grass thus the repurchase in red.
