I'm disabled, very obese, and prone to bouts of vertigo and getting wobbly. I fall a few times a year. I cannot get up or even move much on my own if I fall. We needed a better solution than using a sheet to drag me through the house to the stairs where I'm able to stand on my own. We ordered one of these chairs; It works like a charm. I used the chair to lower myself and then purposely laid on the floor. My spouse was easily able to help me onto the seat and get me back on my feet. It was easily able to lift my 380lbs. We'll be ordering a second one for our other home.

I was all set to give this a 5-star rating based on the shipping, packing, electronics, size, etc., as I spent hours looking at the different chair lifts, but have to down-grade to 4 stars on what I thought was a perfect lift. The packing was amazing: large heavy cardboard outer box, next a plywood top/bottom/sides case, next foam, next a lattice cardboard on top of the folded-up chair under the plywood top. The chair was easy to assemble the 2 wheels and 2 arms with the included screws, washers, and tools. Was already 3/4 charged when our physical therapist tried it and it worked perfectly. He only weighs about 175 pounds. Today, the Occupational therapist came and tried it and both arms bent downwards about 2-3" from horizontal. The OT weighs 270# (my husband weighs 230#), but when the OT pushed down on the arms simulating standing up to a walker, the pressure he exerted on the arms bent them. There is a "stop" at the back of the arms, but each "stop" bent slightly. I chose this chair lift because several of the reviews on plastic ones had breakage, and another metal one was a lot heavier and the seat was smaller. This seemed the perfect choice, but be aware the arms can bend. The up and down is great - slow and steady. The control module is at the top of the back of the seat so no bending down to unplug. The plug from the controller to the motor has an "o-ring" inside so if the chair gets wet in a shower or bath, the plug stays dry. Overall is still is a "perfect" chair -- slightly more expensive than some others -- but hope the manufacturer figures out how to make the arm connection to the back of the chair more sturdy. I do recommend it with that one caveat -- don't push the arms down when trying to stand if there is a lot of force and weight.

This has been a big help. My husband falls frequently and is unable to get up. I cannot do it either so we would have to call Emergency Services. This chair lowers to about 2 inches above the floor and with his help I am able to get him on the seat. I buckle him in with the attached seat belt and then the chair lifts him. It has casters so one can roll the patient to wherever is necessary... bed, chair, etc. where he is able to scoot over to the desired location. It seems very heavy-duty, but there is a weight limit on it. I also caution that the patient has to be able to help scoot on to the lift chair if you are not able to lift him. Don't lose the charger... replacement is expensive and takes a while to be received. The chair is a bit heavy and there is some assembly so depending on your ability, you might need some help putting it together. Once it is assembled, you can roll it where it needs to go. Overall, I think this is a great product at a reasonable price. It pays for itself in a few times... no more calls to emts.

First of all, this is MEDICAL GRADE QUALITY. The aluminum welds were excellent = high quality engineering built super HD to last. All for less than $400! OBVIOUSLY, my son and I were impressed.

My wife has fallen several times now and this chair has done its job as advertised. However my one big complaint is the battery life. One lift and decent and the battery has just about enough juice left to do a half lift with very little decent, If this problem could be resolved I would highly recommend this chair because it seems to be built quite well
