Great car stereo. I have an earlier version of this radio and liked it a lot but wanted to have Android Auto feature. This on has it and I am very pleased. It drops every once in a while but immediately boots it back up. The screen is very readable even in bright sunlight. The only drawback to me is the screen is a matte finish so it collects dust easily. The shallow depth is a really nice feature because I always struggle to fit all the new connectors behind the new unit and this makes it really easy. Instructions were thorough and easy to follow. This a great radio (at this price point) that boots up quickly and consistently connects to my phone's BT for enjoyable entertainment. ... show more

    • Wireless Apple CarPlay doesn’t work
The wireless Apple car play feature only works for a few minutes after set up, but unfortunately it does not stay connected. After a few minutes the unit will drop CarPlay. You can still have Bluetooth streaming and calls, but CarPlay is greyed out and no longer available. Apple CarPlay does work full time but only via USB cable. If you’re buying this unit for its wireless Apple CarPlay capabilities look somewhere else. ... show more

    • GPS hit and miss. Audiophile from the 90's
GPS antenna is hit and miss on soldering ability, ceramic base makes heating difficult, could use better QC on that part. Remove the junk solder, replace with good 63/36/2 silver and it will be great. If you can, it will save you a huge hassle of return, without, and replace. Otherwise cold weather breaks it and causes wireless Apple CarPlay issues. Other than that, absolutely great stereo! Waze vs iPhone is still an issue, not a Stereo problem... Great sound, replaced factory speakers with e series.. all in all great stereo. Will be getting another soon for another vehicle. Great to see Alpine still making great products. I still give it 4 star because I can fix the issue, but if you cannot, just trim off the misplaced edge of your current factory GPS connector, it will work just the same, if not better. ... show more

    • Alpine vs Atoto F7? I think I made a mistake
Screen 1/10 We are in 2026, the screen looks like 2005, probably Palm's have a better screen. Main issue is that in sunny days you can't see the screen. Evenings and nights are ok. Android Auto 5/10 Wireless works fine, and everything works as it should but usable screen it's a rectangle, son AAuto makes a weird layout, and when navigating everything is very crowded. So it's hard to see and navigate with this unit. Sound 10/10 At least here they haven't let me down. Good sound, crisp, clear and strong. I haven't been able to go pass 50% volume, speakers will blow out. Features 5/10 I honestly don't care about extras too much. Just looking for a good screen to navigate and good sound. And if possible real buttons I can press so I don't have to navigate endless menu's while trying to not kill myself in the highway. Camera are ok, but you can't see it with that screen. I have the same car with a ATOTO F7 chinese brand, that head unit is a blast! everything 10/10 except sound. Sound is a 6/10. It was half the price of this headunit but jeeez.. It's probably way better in everything except sound. ... show more

    • Not what you would expect but a decent unit
Will not mimic your iPhone. Has to be plugged in with the lightning cord or reverts to android. Only has 4 Channels for speakers. I have 6. Rear speeds do not work. You have to add an amp or something. Will not pick up for example, YouTube or TikTok on the unit. Audio yes.

Vey nice radio unit. I upgraded from a Boss to this in my 370z. Looks great and sounds great. I like the radio preset layout much better than the Boss. The wireless CarPlay is a nice feature.
