  • Apple wireless CarPlay
Very nice unit. Alpine delivers again. Don’t listen to the nay sayers this unit is easy to install and looks and works great. You do have to push or turn the blue tooth know synced up every time but if you do that is connects flawlessly. I wanted the apple wireless CarPlay. I installed in an 2007 STI. The old alpine unit finally got a CD stuck in it after 17 years of use. Back then had all these seperate boxes, imprint, Bluetooth, xm, gps with I bet I shed 20lbs from boxes and wires. If you don’t buy a parking brake bypass then you can rig up a switch for parking brake to ground. Start it up flip the switch back and forth like PB set/reset. Worked great until my bypass came in. Now just a quick twist or push to Bluetooth knob and fire it up everything’s sync’s flawlessly. Kept the PDX600 and PDX1000 hooked up just a head unit upgrade and wow the sound is so much brighter. The 4v preouts must have gained some output. Back up camera is super clear now too. ... show more

  • A great head unit that doesn't cause any weird electrical issues!
I purchased this head unit for my Lotus Evora 400 (a rare car that is very picky about its electrical system). This head unit has wireless CarPlay, which was the main requirement, and the usual hands-free calling, HD tuner and equalizer. It does not offer native maps, but CarPlay is what I use for navigation, so not an issue. The Alpine 507 offers a featureset that is unrivaled in head units from name brand manufacturers. The problem I had with the replacement head unit I originally bought was that it caused a weird (very weird) issue where the taillights didn't work when it was hooked up. I tried two different head units, both exhibiting the same problem. The Alpine 507 worked great and didn't cause the taillight issue--so this baby is a keeper! ... show more

  • Great buy
My wife lives her radio, gives her speaker and subwoofer the voltage it needs to create a great sound. It looks great and she's able to connect her apple car play. It's such a good radio, the installer said he was going to get one.

  • Excellent quality! Best display you can find!
Excellent HD display! The Bluetooth hooked up to my phone very quickly, no hesitation. I like the look of the mechanical buttons instead of everything on the screen. You will not be disappointed this is a quality head unit.

  • Great unit, almost issue-free. You won't be disappointed
I bought this for my 2019 4Runner. I replaced a 2-year old Kenwood unit that was a piece of junk. I wanted something with wireless Apple CarPlay and that wasn't a floating screen and this fit the bill. I've had Alpine products in the past, and they've worked well for me. I'm using it with a stock audio system and an iDataLink Maestro. I bought this June of 2022. It's now March of 2023 as I write this. Installation was a little hairy because the annoying lock-out safety features of the Alpine unit, but there are hacks to bypass them. Once that happened, it's run very well. There's an occasional hiccup (freeze, no audio, etc) but they resolve themselves with the car restart, and months go buy without issues. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the product. It just works and works well for my needs. ... show more

  • Alpine ILX-507 - Almost perfect
I'd give this radio a 4.5 if I could. I really like everything about this radio except for the lack of a simple feature on the SiriusXM portion of the radio. I previously had an aftermarket Pioneer radio in my car, but I wanted a radio with Apple Car Play. The wireless Apple Car play was the deciding factor over purchasing something less expensive. I've also had Alpine radios in the past, and I've really enjoyed every one of them. I do not have any aftermarket amplifiers and I'm not using iDatalink features. I'm have an aftermarket rear camera and a module that works with my steering wheel controls. The sound quality is excellent. Going from the Pioneer to this is a big upgrade. This unit has an extensive menu to customize the sound, or you can use the preloaded presets. The OTA radio and HD radio work great. The one feature I wish they put on the SiriusXM radio is on the standard radio. They have the option to scroll the presets, auto seek, or manually seek on the standard radio. On SiriusXM, you can only scroll to the next station and you can't scroll by the presets. I'd like to take advantage of my steering wheel controls to scroll the presets, while driving. Now on SiriusXM I must manually hit the presets if I don't want to scroll though all stations. As far as Apple Car Play, it works as expected, wired or wirelessly. I used a Lightning to Digital AV adapter to hook up my phone through the HDMI in. The screen looked great streaming from apps and playing videos on my phone. I didn't test the HDMI out since I had no need to hook up. I'm not quite sure what the GPS does for this radio, other than it uses it for the clock and maybe assist with navigation. If it's doing more, I don't know what it is. Alpine did put out a software update that is available through their website. It was easy to install and added TIDAL and was supposed to fix some wireless connectivity. Overall, if you don't see the need for wireless connectivity or some of the other special features, you might find what you need for a little less money. I still purchased this model knowing this, and I'd do it again. ... show more

  • Nice Upgrade.
Nice radio, does a lot more than my 05 F150 can do. Added backup camera, nice upgrade. Quick note you have to connect the gps antenna to make wireless carplay work. Also if you have a mic, its only takes 3.5mm. Mine was 2.5mm so had to buy an adapter.

  • The Installation.
I put this in myself and this was the first one in 40 years I have put in. I went the plug and play route with the wiring, so the installation was fairly easy in my vehicle. Just use AI if you run into trouble with the install. The features were as advertised and the unit worked well. I would recommend an alternative way to handle the ground needed to get to certain setup features. I used a push button in my setup. ... show more
