  • Small, Convenient, and Economical Small, Convenient, and Economical
Size: 10 Quart
I purchased the Alpicool C9PT Mini Portable Freezer, 12 Volt Car Refrigerator. The first one I received malfunctioned. It was slow to decrease the temperature and it stalled at 40°F although it was on overnight. Amazon's customer service swiftly rectified the situation and sent a replacement refrigerator. Although the Alpicool C9PT is small, it does supply portable refrigeration to meet your food, drink, or medication needs. The refrigerator comes with an AC 100-240-volt outlet cord, a 12/24-volt cord, and instructions. The cords are approximately 6 feet. I did not measure them. The instructions are easy to follow. The control panel is well-lit with four easy-to-push control buttons. The power cord is plugged in below the control panel. This side of the refrigerator is well-vented on three sides. The refrigerator is CFC-free with heat insulation. It cools to -4°F based on 77°F room temperature; therefore, it varies. There is a temperature memory function and a three-stage intelligent battery protection system. The instructions are clear as to which battery protection mode to select. I plugged the refrigerator into the Bluetti EB3A power station using the 12-volt cord provided. It can also be powered by an automobile 12-volt/24-volt. Using the Bluetti, with the refrigerator set on ECO mode, the power station used 25 watts to maintain the temperature. To maintain the desired temperature the compressor would come on for about three to five minutes and shut off for approximately twenty minutes. The compressor sound is minimal. It's a noticeable hum but not overpowering. A small portable fan is louder. I was able to fall asleep with the refrigerator on and remain sleeping as it cycled on and off. The refrigerator's storage capacity is small but sufficient for one person. I fit four 16.9 ounce water bottles across the bottom of the refrigerator. The bottles were not able to fit in the upright position. The refrigerator is lightweight, easy to pick up, and easy to use in a vehicle or indoors. The refrigerator's lid closes snugly, tight, and securely keeping the cold inside. I have to use some elbow to break the suction to open it. There are no handles on the Alpicool C9PT. I purchased an insulated carry bag with a shoulder strap for convenience and greater insulation in hot weather. The price for the refrigerator is extremely reasonable for a small compression refrigerator. It took about twenty minutes from plug-in to a cooldown of 36°F. My test was indoors on an Autumn day. My indoor temperature was approximately 78°F. I further tested the refrigerator by setting it down to the lowest temperature of -4°F. That required an additional fifteen minutes approximately. The refrigerator was empty during my testing. The refrigerator arrives well-packaged indicating - this side up. There is an outer box. The Alpicool C9PT is located inside an additional box housed snugly in an upper and lower styrofoam cast. A clear plastic loosely cover the refrigerator. The cords and instructions are in a box located inside the refrigerators cooling cavity. As I use the refrigerator I will update my review. ... show more

  • My Alpicool, 2nd one My Alpicool, 2nd one
Size: 16 Quart
It just got delivered 30 minutes ago 4/7/23. Everything looks good no dents cracks or other visual damage. I researched this fridge on YouTube. They say you should let the unit stand level at least 12 hours before use to allow compressor fluids to settle. This is because in shipping it may have been stored on its side so I’m letting it sit until tomorrow. The instructions doesn’t say to do this, but it makes sense to me. So, I will come back and update this review when I put it to use. I’ve heard good things about Alpicool so I am a little disappointed that the logo is just a peel and stick on tape which has a bubble in it so it’s not adhered very well. However the label doesn’t make it run. Just hoping I haven’t Ben given a cheap knock off. If it works I’ll be happy. UPDATE: it’s the next day so I believe it’s sat long enough. It started right up with my jackery for power. In 10 minutes it went from 64 degrees down to 54 and dropping as I type. It’s on Max at the moment drawing 44w. Switched to eco mode now drawing 29w. It fluctuates just a bit has compressor kicks on and off. Success. I’m happy with it. ANOTHER UPDATE: I’ve had this for one work week. It’s working great. I probably would have done better with the 9liter fridge because it takes up some space in my king cab, but I do plan to use it for camping so it’s ok. Got a fridge thermometer and found that it was actually 30 degrees inside so I set the unit to 41degrees. My concern now is for when the Texas heat ramps up. It’s refreshing to have cold V8, water and fruit cups. It’s working perfectly, as for power supply, that’s a work in progress. My 500 jackery doesn’t last all day. UPDATE OCT 7Th I bought another Alpicool. I put the bigger one in the house. Too big for my new Versa. This one fits perfectly in my back seat. It cools down quickly. It’s a 10L size. It has plenty of space for drinks and my lunch. Working just fine. Thank you Alpicool. ... show more

  • works well on car battery, good little fridge for road trips
Size: 21Quart
I looked at this Alpicool car refrigerator as a replacement for a cooler with ice during my annual road trip this year. After looking at the average cost of a 5-7 pound bag of ice, and considering how much ice I've gone through in a road trip during the past few years, I figured this refrigerator could "pay for itself" in just a few weeks. After receiving the item (it arrived on its side, and was packed upside down in the box!), I let it sit properly right-side up for about 12 hours. I plugged it in, set it to 37F on "HH" (non-eco mode) and "H3" (high), and it cooled down within 2-3 hours. Prior to loading it with drinks and some food, I cooled it down again, and set it at 35F, Eco and H3 for the bulk of the road trip. It did a great job of keeping food and drinks cold when it had power, and like a "regular" refrigerator, it did a decent enough job of functioning as a cooler when no power was available. I screwed up when ordering a backup power source to use with this when we were camping without electricity, so we needed it to work as a cooler then. I have since acquired a small AC/DC power bank (a 300W/288Wh one) that will power this. Overall, this is easy to use, lighter than it looks (and lighter than I thought it would be), and has good enough storage capacity (just remember that you can "pile" things up because of the way the lid is shaped. I look forward to using it on more trips in the future, and never having to worry about leaky coolers and constantly buying ice again. ... show more

  • Worked great for about one week, then never got cold again after that
Size: 16 Quart
I would recommend looking at other products from another manufacturer. Do not buy the Alpicool portable fridge. We used the refrigerator on a trip to Colorado and back and everything worked great for a little over a week long trip. We used it everyday either in the car or plugged into a wall outlet when we were inside. It was great and helped out tremendously keeping food frozen for the entire trip. Then, we went to use it again for another trip about six weeks later and it never got cold enough to work as a freezer. Gradually over that trip the temperature inside the refrigerator kept getting warmer and warmer until it wasn't cooling at all. It would only get as cold as the ambient temperature in the room despite checking the settings repeatedly, resetting it, or completely unplugging it to restart it. It was as if the refrigerant had slowly started leaking out until there was none left to cool. The motor and controls all seemed to be working fine, except it would not get cold. The last time I tried it registered 72 degrees inside the cooler even after being plugged in for hours inside an air-conditioned room. The window to return the item of course is now passed and we are stuck with a very heavy cooler that requires the use of old-fashioned ice or ice blocks to keep food cold. Look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Great portable fridge/freezer if you use a fridge thermometer to check temperature Great portable fridge/freezer if you use a fridge thermometer to check temperature
Size: 21Quart
Why did you pick this product vs others?: There were great reviews on this as far as the noise level, space, temperature control. and the price point was very competitive. Value for money: Reasonably priced compared to other Storage capacity: 21 quart is spacious enough for our travel needs Power consumption: Low wattage and quiet motor Ease of use: Basically, it’s a plug-in play very simple Keeps things cold: The freezer is running at a -4 after 48 hours, internal temperature is 19°. It kept my frozen dog food frozen all this time but it took 24 hours to make ice cubes which actually have little air bubbles in them? The internal temperature does not reach zero but it is cold enough to keep frozen items frozen and if you give it enough time, it is cold enough to actually make ice. I actually purchased three of these, but returned the first two. The first one I ordered arrived on its side, despite explicit manufacturer instructions on the box that stated it was supposed to be shipped upright. It was in the Amazon box on its side. I let it sit for 24 /+ hours before plugging it in. Unfortunately, it never held a steady temperature so I returned it. When the second one arrived on its side, I immediately sent it back but then ordered the third one. That one also was shipped on its side, but I let it sit upright for 48 hours before plugging it in. It has now been running successfully off my household current for 48 hours and I am looking forward to seeing how it performs when we plug it into the cigarette lighter in the car. My recommendation would be if you want or need to freeze food it should be pre-frozen. So far it seems that this powerful little unit will do the job of maintaining frozen food very nicely. If you need to actually freeze food, it could take a while. As refrigerator and for my needs as a freezer to keep frozen dog food, frozen when I travel, this looks like it will fit the bill nicely. I gave it four stars instead of five just because of the initial experience and the slow process of making ice. All the other reviews were strong enough that I took the recommendation and researched a little more about letting the compressor sit in an upright position for a full 48 hours before trying to run it and it seems to be doing fine. The discrepancy between the settings and the actual internal temperature was somewhat confusing, but I used a refrigerator thermometer and did a test run making ice and putting pre-frozen food inside and so far, so good. My next test will be ice cream. 🤞 ... show more

  • This product has been a lifesaver
Size: 10 Quart
I am so impressed with this little refrigerator. It gets so cold fast. I can actually make ice cubes in under five hours and it stays cold. Even after it’s been off forever I can freeze things or I can use as a refrigerator. I am constantly on the road we also have an off grid property that this works perfect for I can’t say enough about this and products is so quiet I don’t even know that it’s on. It’s also very low wattage so it works perfect with a portable generator. I love this. UPDATE So I have had this refrigerator since October 20 23I am in the California desert where it gets to 115 in the summer almost every day and I have use this since October since we got here every single day it’s plugged in all day all night and it is still running as of today which is July 14, 2024. It still freezes it barely draws over 35 W. It’s absolutely awesome I just wanted to let you all know that I have had it for close to a year now and even in this extreme heat, it still freezes properly works properly, it’s absolutely amazing. I love it. I don’t know what I would do without it because this is the only way we have to keep our food cold out here I’ve ordered several cents and they are all working exactly the same as this one super impressed. ... show more

Five stars....so far. Arrived double boxed with only one small bit of paper for cushion between the two boxes but it didn't seem to matter as the unit was secured in the second box with styrofoam. I let it sit over night (booklet says 6 hours) before plugging it in. Initial temp displayed was 70 degrees, I set the temp to 41 degrees and in 13 minutes had cooled to 40 degrees. Temp does fluctuate a bit before finally stabilizing. The true test will be be on our upcoming cross-country road trip. I opted for the 3 year protection plan at a reasonable $12.00. ... show more
