  • Great Customer Support
Color: white Size: 90 Pint
At the recommendation of a professional contractor, I purchased this ALORAIR dehumidifier for my finished basement. I used to have a much smaller unit (manufactured by another company) but it didn't do a very good job (given the size of my finished basement) and stopped working within a year. This unit, however, works great, is more appropriately powered given the size of my finished basement, and has been very reliable since I purchased it around October 2021. Recently, (July 2023) the unit started to leak. I reached out to the manufacturer (ALORAIR) customer service with my issue and they were very responsive. With guidance from the manufacturer, I was able to diagnose the issue and they immediately sent the required replacement parts. Once I replaced the parts, the unit has been working great again. The unit is surprisingly easy to maintain and repair. I'm not an HVAC professional but this unit is very DIY friendly. This is especially true with the excellent customer support and the very good "how to" manufacturer videos available. I would highly recommend this dehumidifier. More Recently (July 2025), I noticed that the unit displayed an error code which signified that the humidity & temperature sensor was not working (per the user manual). I reached out to ALORAIR customer service again. Once again, they were very responsive. Customer service agreed with the diagnosis from their user manual and the manufacturer sent a replacement sensor right away. Again, replacement of the sensor was straightforward with videos provided. It did take a few replacement sensors and a replacement main board before unit started operating properly again, but credit to ALORAIR for their persistence and patience to ensure my problem was eventually resolved (as it took several attempts). This is a great company that takes care of their customers and stands behind their great product. I highly recommend ALORAIR dehumidifiers. ... show more

It does a great job under our 2000sqft home keeping the humidity down, the water pump failed over a year after purchasing and customer service did an amazing job sending me multiple parts until a failed water pump was found to be the issue and they quickly sent me a replacement and got me back up and running. Would buy again! ... show more

  • Dehumidifier On Steroids. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ UPDATE - DO NOT BUY Dehumidifier On Steroids. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ UPDATE - DO NOT BUY
Color: white Size: 90 Pint
Not your usual dehumidifier. Nor is the cost. Heavy and appears to be well made. Works as advertised. Replaced a $300 Fridgedaire unit for residential basement use. Since I have had it for just over two weeks I can not comment on longevity. At this price I expect it to last several years at least. A better alternative to having a moldy basement. I did contact customer service prior to purchase to help select the right model for my application. The rep was polite and helpful. I purchased the 90 pint model with pump upon recommendation of customer service. This was excellent advice. If you are not sure of which model you require give them a call. However, as a general rule with some exceptions upgrading will leave you more satisfied and result in less regret. Update: One year and one month after purchase I noticed this unit stopped dehumidifying the air in my basement. I am certain it broke within the one year warranty but I was careless and did not monitor the unit. As long as I heard the compressor working I believed it was functioning. I called customer service and was advised that despite being one month out of warranty it would be repaired at no charge if I would ship it to the repair station at my expense. Then it would be shipped back to me at no charge. I accepted this offer and although the shipping fee amounted to $230 I felt that this was fair since I was careless in not detecting the malfunction earlier. By the way, UPS damaged the unit in transit and the damage was also repaired free of charge. I am not deducting any stars because I do believe it is a good dehumidifier but if it still does not work properly after testing I will edit my review again. I did learn some lessons. All mechanical devices such as dehumidifiers, no matter how robust will fail at some time- some sooner and some later. I expected 5 years of trouble free service. Shipping on an 80 plus pound unit to North Carolina is expensive. UPS is not infallible and damaged the unit through carelessness. Alor Air did the best it could to assist me and I am grateful. If you buy an extended warranty such as the one sold by Square Trade make sure that it covers all shipping costs. It appears that you can not bring this to your local appliance shop in the event repairs are needed. I would still rate the unit 5 stars (unless I have more problems) due to accommodating customer service even though I expected to get several years of trouble free service from it in view of it’s cost and heavy duty appearance. My far less expensive Fridgedaire unit worked for several years until it was recalled. Update After the unit was returned to me it appeared to be working. However, appearances can be deceptive. While the unit cycled on and off as needed, I noticed that there was often a pool of water under the unit. Rather than ship it back to the seller I decided to open the unit and inspect. What I found was the plastic tray under the coils was cracked. Water would escape the unit rather than get directed to the internal pump. Using quick setting epoxy and silicone adhesive I repaired the crack. It should be noted that an ineffective attempt was made to fix the broken tray prior to my discovery. I could see that glue had been applied by someone other than me. Having fixed the tray I was certain that I would now have a functioning unit. However, the dehumidifier coils now freeze up almost immediately when turned on (see photo of coils taken after several hours of continued operation, the white is ice). Once this happened the humidifier no longer removes moisture from the air. From a purchase that I raved about I have become a very unhappy customer. I rarely leave negative reviews but this dehumidifier deserves no stars if that were possible. I would caution prospective purchasers to avoid this AlorAir dehumidifier. The build of the dehumidifier inspires confidence. It is robust and has hefty weight that inspires confidence. However, it is plagued with problems. The plastic tray was protected within the unit and obviously broken prior to installation. Quality control is unacceptable. The cost of shipping to AlorAir for repair was $230.00. The removal of the unit from the basement and transport to the shipper required two men and was difficult at best. The time the unit was gone from my basement allowed moisture to do harm to the items stored therein or perhaps the mold occurred while I incorrectly thought the unit was functioning. The repair done by AlorAir (replacement of the pump and addition of refrigerant) was obviously incomplete as the technician overlooked the cracked plastic tray or made an ineffective repair of the tray (impossible to tell at this point). At a cost of $1300. 00 plus the cost to return for repair ($230.00) I am thoroughly disgusted with this product. I thought I was getting an industrial quality dehumidifier when in fact I was better off with the consumer grade dehumidifier it replaced. I would urge prospective customers to avoid AlorAir dehumidifiers. Better to go to the nearest membership warehouse or home improvement retailer and buy a less expensive but more well known brand. Buying this AlorAir dehumidifier was like taking $1530.00 and tossing it in the trash. Lesson learned. ... show more

  • Excellent results so far and with OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE
Color: white Size: 90 Pint
Very pleased with this unit and keeping fingers crossed it has a long trouble free life. Disclaimer. I have no business or personal interest with AlorAir or Amazon. Product received from shipper in excellent condition. I also purchased the hanging kit and mounted the unit approximately 18" under floor joists in a 1900 sq ft crawl space. Would have been helpful to have another person but raising and leveling unit was slowly done by me alone. I replaced a portable unit that had a failed pump. The results are everything I had hoped for. I have the humidity level on control panel set at 55 and the separate remote sensor I'm using as a backup registers a steady 50 after 6 weeks. (digital humidistats are notorious for being off a few points so keep that in mind). I've had several portable dehumidifiers over the years and this is the first that has held humidity so evenly stable. Upon starting the dehumidifier my remote sensor read 80 and the unit read 82 and within 36 hours the reading varied between 51-55 until after a few days has steadied at 50 and holding. I also installed a 6" flexible exhaust duct to redirect air back into the crawl space. I was told by a friend that there would be a lot of noise if hung from the joists but the only noise that can be heard is a very very low "rush" only when standing in the room overhead and within 10 feet. A guest in that room most likely wouldn't notice anything. It's that quiet. Customer Service. I want to commend Kervin at AlorAir for his dedicated assistance over several days during this Covid work slowdown. He was a real blessing. I couldn't install the dehumidifier without the hanging kit which is a separate Amazon item. Unfortunately, 3 times the shipping cartons were damaged during transit and parts were lost. Kervin immediately responded the first 2 times until he personally had the parts shipped to him the 3rd time and then on to me overnight which solved the problem. In this time of uncaring companies who don't treat customer issues with respect, AlorAire customer service was outstanding. ... show more

  • Excellent Customer Service for a very good unit. It does the job. Excellent Customer Service for a very good unit. It does the job.
Color: white Size: 90 Pint
I ordered this dehumidifier in hopes of reducing the humidity in our crawl space. I really like the internal pump so it can easily send the water to an outside drain. The unit shut off within a couple of weeks of installation. Eileen at Aloaire support was excellent in responding very quickly (by email) and guiding me through troubleshooting the unit. When the final test pointed to a failed component, she made arrangements for a return and replacement. The replacement has been operating very well for several weeks now. Our crawl space area was at the upper end of the range for this unit. It has kept the crawl space at the setpoint (55%) with ease it seems. I can hear it cycle on and off, which is comforting. • DIY friendly money saver.
Color: white Size: 90 Pint
This is the second Alorair dehumidifier that I have owned. My first worked for the entire time I lived in my first home. (2 years) This one broke within a year of owning it which allowed me to use the warranty which covers parts and labor. This was done by sending them a video demonstrating the issue and them sending me parts for me to replace. It took 3 different parts being replaced for it to work, but now it is back up and running as expected. I recommend Alorair contract technicians to come out and do a professional diagnosis and parts repair. This would have made everything much faster and would likely save money on having to send unnecessary parts due to bad diagnosis. I assume this is done to cut costs which is transferred to the MSRP of the unit which is evident when compared to other companies. If you are handy, this is the perfect company because you will save a lot of money. Otherwise, I would understand that the expectation is for any warranty diagnosis be done at home by the owner. This has worked out for me and saved me a lot of money, but a professional diagnosis would have made this a 5 star experience. ... show more

  • Serious Crawlspace Dehumidifier With Strong Moisture Removal Performance
Color: white Size: 90 Pint
I installed this ALORAIR crawlspace/basement dehumidifier as part of a larger moisture-control project, and it has made a substantial difference in humidity levels and overall air quality in the space. The unit is clearly designed for more serious basement or crawlspace applications rather than light residential room use. Once configured, it pulls a surprising amount of moisture from the air and maintains humidity levels much more consistently than smaller consumer-grade dehumidifiers I’ve used previously. The build quality feels industrial compared to standard home dehumidifiers, and features like continuous drainage, external ducting capability, and remote monitoring options make it well suited for permanent installation. Noise levels are reasonable considering the capacity, especially when installed in a crawlspace or utility area away from main living spaces. I also appreciate that it’s designed to be serviceable and durable rather than disposable. What stood out most is the long-term operational stability. After installation, the crawlspace environment became noticeably drier, and musty odors were reduced significantly. For anyone dealing with ongoing moisture issues in a basement or encapsulated crawlspace, this feels like a legitimate infrastructure upgrade rather than just another appliance. ... show more

I bought the Alorair HDi90 in late 2023. Worked fine until Spring of 2026 I noticed it was not running and the display on the Toovem remote control I bought about the same time was blank. After troubleshooting online with the Alorair service folks they determined the control board was bad. They sent me a new control board and sure enough, it solved the problem and is working fine again. ... show more
