Works great for holding up my rifle while sitting in elevated ground blind ( with decked floor). When scouting, I used it as a walking stick at set shooting height. It vibrates in hand when it bounces off objects on the ground so I end up carrying it instead (still at standing length) for a ready shot. Because of the design, it is very stug to extend it as you need 2 hands to extend it initially. My Wife wanted a walking stick, that doubled as a shooting stick rest. Very light, easy to adjust to heights. Light but not cheap feeling.

It’s solid. But not as solid as some of the more expensive models. And that makes sense. It was tough to pull out the bottom extension. I had to use pliers. But for what I need it for, the price and the functionality are good. I would not use it as a walking cane because I don’t think it would last. But as far as a intermittently used shooting stick, it’s gonna work. ... show more

    • Best Monopod I Have Used
I have an earlier version of this same pod from Allen and have to say this one is an improvement. It feels sturdier and lighter. I like the addition of the rubber in the v as well as the larger hand strap. It is also not as reflective as the old version which is nice. These will never be as good as a bi-pod or tripod but they are a nice quick lightweight alternative. I can also remove the V and screw it into my camera which is nice for stability when I do not have a tripod along. DO NOT USE AS A WALKING STICK they are not designed to hold body weight at all and using it as such could cause severe injury to you, others or damage to your expensive gun/camera. Compared to all other ads at the time this Mono Pod had the best price but had a REALLY LONG WAIT for delivery ! 40 days later it arrived in great shape although the box it came in was mangled. It compacts and expands fairly easy and is sturdy in any length I choose. Good Product !.

    • Good stick, but bends really easily
As a monopod it's light and works well, but if you're in rough terrain and need it to double as a hiking stick this is not the product. It bends with very little weight applied.
