For the price, you get much much more value with this nifty vest. The color is absolutely amazing. The fit, quite form fitting and enhances your feminine body. It is not a puffy jacket or baggy and is meant to be worn not in very cold weather. It is more quilt thickness than jacket thickness, if that makes sense. The length is nice and long (which gives it a more feminine feel), in addition the torso area fitting snug around the waist and then letting a little bit out at the bottom. It is not baggy, if that is what you're afraid of. There is not a cinch that you can tie at the waist, but the vest does cinch, as it is shaped in a V shape... it is NOT boxy at all. I love it. I am a medium and I ordered the medium. I would say it is true to size, IF you are XS or S built. This vest fits VERY well on small framed bodies (think asian bodies), OR if you want a very fitted vest. If you prefer that your vest have room for a thick shirt or sweater, then definitely go up a size. It can still look good on average to medium frame bodies, but I would size up. This is important to note! The material is soft and is not scratchy. I buy a lot of asian clothing on Amazon (sometimes it turns out good and sometimes not so good), and usually the zippers on asian garments are not very high quality. The three zippers (one on each side pocket and one in the center) on this vest is nice and "beafier" than other zippers I've come across. The color of the zippers are not distracting, since it is a charcoal color. And a bonus, these zippers are not rough when you rub your hand across it when zipped. A pet peeve of mine with bad zipper jackets, is when the jacket it zipped up, the zipper line does not line up straight. This just makes the clothing article look cheap. Well, fortunately the middle zipper on this vest does line up straight. It's the little important details that make this vest a nice vest. There are also two little gold button/emblems, one on each side pocket. They do not look cheap. The gold goes really well with the color of the vest. A lot of vests out there have a really high collar... almost to the point of choking you when zipped all the way up. This vest stands out because of the low cut collar. You can zip it all the way up and not feel like you can't look down or sideways. (If you don't get what I'm saying, just try zipping up another vest of yours all the way up.). Now tell me that does not feel comfortable. The Allegra K vest has a lower cut collar that so many vest do not offer. It protects you from the cold when you need it most but is also comfortable at the same time. You know how sometimes, you can order something online and think it looks great, but when you finally receive it in the mail, the shape and cut of the garment fits and looks totally wrong? Well, you don't have to worry much about this vest. Everything about it looks exactly like what is advertised. I usually only buy Amazon Prime products, for their return policy (especially with overseas products)... but I went ahead and took a chance with this vest. Yes, it did take a week or two longer... but honestly, it was worth it since it is such a great quilted vest. The only negative would be that the side pockets are very very small and not practical to use. (Notice how the model fits only one finger inside her pocket... well... there you go.) But then, how often do you put your hands in your vest pockets? (Again, this quilted vest is meant to be worn not as a warm jacket, but a nice thin quilted vest) There is also no pocket inside the vest (chest area). But I guess for a vest this slim, it would defeat the purpose of a pocket that would add bulkiness... so I'm okay with it. Overall, if you are on the fence from buying this vest because it is not Amazon Prime, I would say go ahead and make the purchase. You will be pleasantly surprised and happy in the end. -From a husband who bought this for his wife. (She loves it too, by the way.) EDIT- Got the red, now ordering the white.

I had purchased this same vest previously in Navy, size Small. I'm 5'3" tall, weigh about 125, give or take 5 lbs. My measurements are 36-26-36. This vest fit me quite well, although it is a little snug, I was definitely able to wear it zipped-up provided I wore nothing thicker than a tee-shirt or thin sweater (otherwise I'd have to wear it unzipped). I generally wear this vest zipped-up half way, and like the look, but it also looks good unzipped as well (without it being bulky or boxy). I loved the first vest so much that I decided to purchase another in Brown, this time choosing a size Medium in hopes that the fit would be just a bit better. Unfortunately, I didn't expect the difference between the size small and medium sizes to be that different. I had expected it to look and fit similar to my previous size small, with just a little more room for wearing it zipped-up all the way to the neck without it flattening my chest. However, I was astonished by how much larger the medium size was - including the sleeve openings. (I had read someone else complain of the same issue in one of the reviews, but I thought I'd take a chance just in case it was a "one-off" issue, but apparently, I wasn't!) The same vest in a size medium looked huge and unflattering on me. If there wasn't such a huge discrepancy between the two sizes, I would have kept the Medium in brown, however, the fit between this and the Small was like the difference between night and day! As a result, I ended up returning it. This vest is very well made, really quite stunning, and is a steal at the price it's sold for. Zipped-up, and in the right size, this vest looks totally awesome! It hugs ones curves and looks absolutely adorable. It's light weight and can be dress-up or down. It washes well in a washing machine without causing the quilting to misshapen. I've washed it several times in cold and hung it to dry inside. It drys overnight and looks brand new. The Navy is a rich color that's really flattering. (In fact, I love all colors offered, and wouldn't hesitate to purchase this in any of those offered!) It's warm enough to wear outside on a brisk day, but probably wouldn't provide much warmth if temperatures dropped below 45 degrees. More than likely, I'll purchase another size Small in a different color, due to how much I love this vest. Pockets are functional and I'm actually able to fit my hands completely inside to keep warm -without gloves- because my hands are small. It's big enough to store little necessities, but anything else, I kept in my back pack. I wore this during my trip to Washington and Idaho during the spring and it kept me comfortable when it got cool outside. It also packs well inside my suitcase without taking up much "real estate" away from my other clothing. This vest is "fitted" which is what I prefer. I only wish the Medium size wasn't so huge in comparison to the Small size. I definitely do recommend this vest as it's comfortable on and looks great without it looking boxy. The length is perfect too. It covers the top half of my hips and butt - even while bending down. I hope Allegra K comes out with other similar vest styles, perhaps with more pockets (or an interior pocket).

I've been buying these Allegra K vests for years now, and the quality has definitely decreased. The upper back part of the vest is sewn differently and inferiorly. The zippers are lower quality, and smaller. And there appears to be less insulation in this vest compared to my previous ones. It is still a nice vest, and fits well, but having experienced the better previous versions, I am disappointed. I would rather have paid more for the higher quality vest. I bought an XL, and I usually wear a L or Xl, so If you are between sizes, size up. 3.5 stars vs my old ones which were 5 stars..

I initially purchased this vest in both a large and a medium and compared them (I'm a size 10). The extra room in the large was primarily in the bust and armholes. Not much extra room around the hips. Since I intended to wear the vest at work, the larger armholes in the size large allowed the vest to ride up and poke me in the chin while sitting. So I opted for the more form-fitting medium. It took a little getting used to having such a snug fit, but the vest "gives" and the smooth fabric allows it to glide with the movement of my shirt. It's contoured for a flattering fit, is cozy but not too warm indoors. And I bought two more in size medium and have my eye on a fourth. The Allegra navy and brown are very nice shades.
